Ch. 1021Blood clouds shrouded the city

Fang Qianyuan learned that Ye'e Shilazheluō had entered the Outer-Domain Void and considered attacking his exposed lair. Meanwhile, Wang Ran and Ding Yuanlong investigated the blood-clouds gathering over Ye'e Sudiluo's imperial city, and Ding Yuanlong entered it disguised as a yaksha.

  • Lin Zaixing reported the campaign's progress to Fang Qianyuan and said Ye'e Sudiluo was about eighty thousand li to the east.
  • Lin Zaixing told Fang Qianyuan that Ye'e Shilazheluō had likely entered the Outer-Domain Void, leaving his lair vulnerable to attack.
  • Wang Ran and Ding Yuanlong saw demon baleful intent and Origin Energy gathering over Ye'e Sudiluo's imperial city and decided to investigate.
  • Ding Yuanlong activated his curse seals to disguise himself as a yaksha, while Wang Ran stayed behind.
  • Ding Yuanlong reached the imperial city and entered through its western gate without being questioned.

Ch. 1022The Aura of an Immortal

Ding Yuanlong infiltrated the Yaksha Royal City and discovered a robed corpse conducting a blood sacrifice, but the creature caught him and began draining his blood. The Myriad Transformations Curse Seal awakened and shattered the altar, allowing Ding Yuanlong to escape with Wang Ran while Fang Qianyuan sensed the disturbance from afar.

  • Ding Yuanlong used his Yaksha bloodline and General-Rank aura to pass through the city and reach the central plaza.
  • Ding Yuanlong saw a robed corpse absorbing the blood and baleful intent of slaughtered captives in a ritual above the altar.
  • The corpse attacked Ding Yuanlong and used a secret art to draw the blood from his body.
  • The Myriad Transformations Curse Seal lit up, summoned a towering phantom, and blasted the altar apart, sending the corpse flying.
  • Wang Ran saw the disturbance and rushed toward the Imperial City as Ding Yuanlong emerged and urged him to flee.
  • Fang Qianyuan sensed that a powerful enemy had appeared in the Yaksha Royal City.

Ch. 1023Invincible Will

Fang Qianyuan manifested his Mind Ape, Daoheart, to confront the ancient cultivator hidden by Ye'e Sudiluo. Daoheart’s invincible will overcame the corpse’s blood domain, but Ye'e Sudiluo suddenly attacked him from underground.

  • Fang Qianyuan projected Daoheart above the city through the Myriad Transformations Curse Seal he had given Ding Yuanlong.
  • Daoheart confronted the desiccated corpse and declared that he would study him.
  • The corpse unleashed a blood domain that filled the area with blood-colored clouds, corpses, and dragon-like figures.
  • Daoheart used his domain of will to strip away the blood domain and shake the corpse’s divine sense.
  • Ye'e Sudiluo surged up from underground and struck at Daoheart from behind.

Ch. 1024Incomplete Power

Fang Qianyuan learned that his Mind Ape manifestation had failed to injure Ye'e Sudiluo and realized its power could not match a Heaven-Tier expert. He ordered the third wave of the Expeditionary Corps to target Sudiluo Imperial City and prepared to leave Mannali guarded.

  • Ye'e Sudiluo ambushed the Mind Ape manifestation, which dissolved and escaped as a strand of divine sense before he could press his attack.
  • Ye'e Sudiluo told the desiccated corpse that the Mind Ape had carried a trace of immortal power, and the corpse demanded greater offerings for continued help.
  • Fang Qianyuan reviewed the limits of his projections and decided to attack Ye'e Sudiluo's lair directly.
  • Fang Qianyuan ordered Lin Zaixing and Zuoqiutang to assemble the third wave of the Expeditionary Corps and make Sudiluo Imperial City their primary target.
  • Fang Qianyuan said he would lead the attack personally and went deeper into the hall to ensure Ye'e Mannali could not threaten Mannali while he was away.

Ch. 1025Disposal

Fang Qianyuan killed Ye'e Mannali after realizing her power had subtly influenced those around her. Her corpse transformed into a hideous form, exposing the beauty that had captivated her admirers as an illusion.

  • Fang Qianyuan attacked Ye'e Mannali in her bedchamber, saying he would kill her because he was leaving and she was too dangerous to keep alive.
  • Ye'e Mannali begged for her life, but Fang Qianyuan froze her, shattered her Yaksha Dharma Body, and killed her.
  • Fang Qianyuan told Lin Zaixing and Zuoqiutang that Ye'e Mannali's power had altered their thoughts, and Lin Zaixing admitted he had misjudged the situation.
  • Ye'e Mannali's human admirers arrived and condemned Fang Qianyuan for killing her.
  • The onlookers discovered that Ye'e Mannali's corpse was turning into aged bark and revealing a skeletal, hideous appearance.

Ch. 1026The General Offensive Begins

Yang Xia fought two yakshas in the Crimson Blood Wasteland and returned wounded to camp, where Shui Lingyue healed him. He then learned that the army was preparing to advance on the Yaksha Imperial City, while the Grand Commander had already gone ahead to confront its powerful enemies.

  • Yang Xia and A Hu killed two yakshas in the Gobi wilderness, and Yang Xia collected their noses as proof of his kills.
  • Yang Xia returned to camp injured, and Shui Lingyue treated him and A Hu.
  • Shui Lingyue questioned Yang Xia about repeatedly volunteering for dangerous fights, and he said he wanted to earn more money.
  • Chang Wei announced that Thousand-League Soaring Cloud Rocs would transport troops and provisions for an advance on the Yaksha Imperial City.
  • Chang Wei said Earth Rank Experts would escort the forces along the route and that the Grand Commander had gone ahead to confront the enemies there.

Ch. 1027Void Maze Lock

Ye'e Sudiluo and the Ancient Cultivator survivor completed a spell that hid the Imperial City, leaving Fang Qianyuan to find it transformed into ruins. Unable to locate his enemies, Fang Qianyuan unleashed an amplified Absolute Ice Intent attack on the area.

  • Ye'e Sudiluo prepared a massive blood sacrifice so the Ancient Cultivator survivor could restore his body, while warning that the humans might attack.
  • The survivor sealed the void around the Imperial City, and the city vanished beneath a blood mist.
  • Fang Qianyuan arrived with Little White and found the Imperial City reduced to ancient-looking ruins.
  • Fang Qianyuan sensed that his enemies were nearby but could not find them, so he flew above the ruins with Little White.
  • Fang Qianyuan amplified his Absolute Ice Intent and sent a black moon crashing toward the ruins.

Ch. 1028Sacrifice

As the Void Maze Lock and Blood Sacrifice warped Sudiluo's Imperial City, an Ancient Cultivator's mummy used the deaths of its inhabitants to restore his former life and power. Ye'e Sudiluo discovered that the ritual still required an Emperor Venerable sacrifice, putting him in danger after he had already destroyed much of the city to feed it.

  • Human captives escaped during the chaos, but red-and-black mist caused Yaksha Warriors to appear and kill several of them while leaving nearby survivors unseen.
  • The mummy explained that the Void Maze Lock let the Blood Sacrifice retrieve life and power he had stored in Ancient Era space-time, but said the ritual remained short of what it needed.
  • Impatient, Ye'e Sudiluo destroyed buildings and killed countless inhabitants to add their blood and power to the formation.
  • The mummy told Ye'e Sudiluo that the deaths were only appetizers and that the ritual required an Emperor Venerable Yaksha like him as its sacrifice.

Ch. 1029Xue Yetian

Fang Qianyuan repeatedly attacked the overlapping void beneath the Imperial City ruins while the surviving Ancient Cultivator possessed Ye'e Sudiluo and returned as Xue Yetian. Xue Yetian’s victory was interrupted when Fang Qianyuan’s freezing power swept into the blood-colored Imperial City and an enormous Heavenly Wolf Phantom Image appeared overhead.

  • The surviving Ancient Cultivator engulfed Ye'e Sudiluo in Netherworld Blood, dissolved his Blood Baleful Battle Aura, and destroyed his Dharma Body.
  • Fang Qianyuan unleashed Greedy Wolf-Black Moon, leveled the Imperial City ruins, and exposed an abyss-like Black Hole beneath the ice field.
  • Fang Qianyuan summoned more black moons and fired repeated attacks into the overlapping void.
  • The surviving Ancient Cultivator merged with the blood swamp, seized Ye'e Sudiluo’s body, and transformed into Xue Yetian.
  • Fang Qianyuan’s ice and snow froze the blood rivers and corpses as an enormous Heavenly Wolf Phantom Image appeared above the Imperial City.

Ch. 1030Shattered!

Fang Qianyuan found the Imperial City hidden in another dimension and battered the sacrificial formation until Xue Yetian emerged in the real world. Fang Qianyuan and Little White trapped Xue Yetian in the Painted-World Domain and shattered him with a coordinated attack.

  • Fang Qianyuan used Black Moons to locate the displaced Imperial City and assault its formation, freezing the river of blood and cracking its surrounding space.
  • Xue Yetian restored the blood river with ghostly souls, then flew through a fissure as the formation's world began to break apart.
  • Xue Yetian appeared before Fang Qianyuan and attacked, but Fang Qianyuan countered his strike and used Little White's images to evade him.
  • Fang Qianyuan distorted time, space, and origin energy before trapping Xue Yetian in the Painted-World Domain.
  • Little White joined Fang Qianyuan's attack, and their Dark Demon Claw-Shatter the Painting shattered the domain and tore Xue Yetian apart.

Ch. 1031Xue Yetian's memories

Fang Qianyuan defeated Xue Yetian and sealed his surviving flesh, but Xue Yetian’s memories revealed an ancient life of cultivation and led to a mysterious altar bearing an inscription connected to Qianyuan.

  • Fang Qianyuan and Little White shattered Xue Yetian, then used Black Moon’s explosive power to force his ghostly soul back into a lump of flesh.
  • Fang Qianyuan froze the regenerating flesh with Little White’s Frost Breath and sealed it in ice outside the ruins of the Imperial City.
  • Xue Yetian’s memories entered Fang Qianyuan’s mind, but his Dao Heart protected him from the ancient cultivator’s attempted possession.
  • Fang Qianyuan watched memories of Xue Yetian’s life, from his beginnings as a young farmer to his rise as a cultivator of the Blood Sea Sect.
  • Xue Yetian’s memories showed him discovering an underground palace and an altar inscribed in Ancient Immortal Kingdom script with “Great Is Qianyuan.”

Ch. 1032Clues to the Hidden Treasury!

Fang Qianyuan uncovered memories showing that Xue Yetian had entered a hidden treasury tied to the Supreme Heaven Sect and used a black coffin to preserve himself, possibly revealing a way to survive the Age of Dharma Decline. He set out to pursue the clue, while Yang Xia and the others received secret orders to search a valley west of the Imperial City.

  • Fang Qianyuan watched Xue Yetian find twelve black coffins, lie in one, and seal himself inside.
  • Fang Qianyuan realized the coffins and ruins were connected to the Supreme Heaven Sect's hidden treasury and might hold secrets of immortality.
  • Fang Qianyuan kept Xue Yetian's mass of flesh instead of destroying it, then flew west on Little White to pursue the discovery.
  • The expeditionary corps received news that Fang Qianyuan had defeated Ye'e Sudiluo and orders to hunt yakshas across the Ye'e Tribe's territory.
  • Yang Xia and the others arrived near the Imperial City and received Chang Wei's secret order to search a valley west of it.

Ch. 1033Yang Xia's Fortuitous Encounter (Part One)

Yang Xia and Chang Wei’s team searched the Desolate Valley for a rumored black obsidian crystal coffin, enduring attacks from Demons before reaching a cave and crossing an ancient chain bridge. Blood-colored mist engulfed the bridge, and half the team vanished, leaving Yang Xia and the others stranded on the far side.

  • Chang Wei convinced the team to accept a guaranteed monthly allowance of one hundred Spirit Jade for exploring the Desolate Valley.
  • Shui Lingyue told Yang Xia that the Azure Cloud Sect was searching for a coffin believed to be made from black obsidian crystal.
  • After several days of travel and battles with Demons, the team found a cave and entered it.
  • Chang Wei led the team across an iron chain bridge toward a distant platform after sending a Swift Eagle to scout ahead.
  • Blood-colored mist suddenly covered the bridge, and half of the thirty-six-person party disappeared.
  • Yang Xia and the others reached the end of the bridge and realized Chang Wei and the rest of the missing team had vanished.

Ch. 1034Yang Xia's extraordinary encounter (part two)

Yang Xia and Shui Lingyue’s group entered a hidden underground palace after a strange mist cut off their way back, only to be attacked by hordes of rotting corpses. They fought to break through the passage as the corpses kept rising unless completely smashed apart.

  • Yang Xia checked that Shui Lingyue was safe as the group discovered blood mist, a corpse-filled abyss, and a blocked bridge behind them.
  • Old Lin and the others led the party into a massive stone palace, using torches and spirit creatures to explore its dark passages.
  • The group traveled through the passage without encountering traps, until rotting corpses began following them from behind and more appeared ahead.
  • Yang Xia charged the corpses on his Blazing Mountain Tiger and attacked them with blazing light, but they kept rising after ordinary injuries.
  • The group realized the corpses had to be smashed completely to stop them and agreed they had to break out before exhaustion overcame them.

Ch. 1035Yang Xia's Extraordinary Encounter (Part Two)

Yang Xia was betrayed by Yang Zhengxiong and swallowed by a mass of bloody tentacles, then suddenly found himself alone in a brightly lit underground space. He discovered a towering altar bearing a Stone Basin Platform and a floating golden radiance.

  • Yang Xia rescued Shui Lingyue from a bloody tentacle, but Yang Zhengxiong seized him during their escape.
  • Yang Zhengxiong shoved Yang Xia toward the tentacles while pulling Shui Lingyue away, then fled as she mistook his betrayal for a rescue.
  • A massive shadow dragged Yang Xia into the tentacles, and a blood-red cloud spread across the floor as he vanished.
  • Yang Xia woke alone, cursed Yang Zhengxiong, and saw a nine-dragon altar supporting a Stone Basin Platform beneath a golden radiance.

Ch. 1036The crossroads of fate

Yang Xia took an ancient silk scroll and a Silver Treasure Pill from an altar, unable to tell whether they were treasures or traps, then explored a dark corridor. Meanwhile, Fang Qianyuan summoned Wu Ziyun and asked him to cast a divination.

  • Yang Xia approached the altar’s golden light and found an ancient Brocade Script Silk Scroll and a Silver Treasure Pill above a Stone Basin.
  • After weighing the risks, Yang Xia took both objects and discovered that neither could be stored in his Myriad Treasures Pouch.
  • Yang Xia found a starry pattern on the back of the scroll and decided to seek help identifying the objects after leaving the cave abode.
  • Yang Xia discovered an empty side hall and entered its dark corridor with a heavenfire stone torch.
  • At a camp west of the Ye'e Tribe's Imperial City, Fang Qianyuan summoned Wu Ziyun and asked him to cast a divination.

Ch. 1037The methods of the Shamanic Dao

Fang Qianyuan had Wu Ziyun perform a Shamanic Dao divination to guide his search for the hidden ruin connected to the Flying Immortal Records. Wu Ziyun’s ritual produced a cryptic verse, leaving Fang to interpret its meaning.

  • Fang Qianyuan explained that he was sending out many people to search for a hidden ruin, hoping someone would trigger its restrictions or find the place Xue Yetian had entered.
  • Wu Ziyun took Fang’s expedition list and performed a Shamanic Dao ritual while Zuoqiutang watched.
  • Wu Ziyun’s dance and incantations revealed the profound power of the Shamanic Dao, and Zuoqiutang stopped regarding him with amusement.
  • Wu Ziyun heated a Mysterious Tortoise shell until it cracked, then read the resulting divination: “A tree stands in the east, the sun rises from Sunrise Valley; it drinks no wind or frost, it sees no ice or snow!”
  • Wu Ziyun told Fang Qianyuan that he could offer no more precise interpretation, leaving Fang to work out the verse’s meaning himself.

Ch. 1038Their separate fates

Fang Qianyuan interpreted a prophecy as pointing to someone surnamed Yang and ordered a search among his subordinates in the Yaksha Kingdom. Meanwhile, Yang Xia remained trapped in a shifting labyrinth, Chang Wei’s team fought Serpent Demons without being able to summon aid, and Old Lin’s group reached what looked like the Tomb Rear Hall.

  • Fang Qianyuan’s strategists connected the prophecy’s first lines to the character “Yang,” and Fang ordered the Warrior Administration to investigate those surnamed Yang.
  • Yang Xia wandered through an endless passage, unaware that the arrows he carved vanished after he left.
  • Chang Wei ignited an Edict Talisman, but a spatial restriction prevented him from summoning Earth Rank Experts as Serpent Demons attacked his party.
  • Chang Wei argued that the Azure Cloud Sect had not broken its promise to provide protection against enemies beyond the party’s strength, and the rogue cultivators continued fighting.
  • Old Lin led his exhausted companions out of a sea of rotting corpses to a brightly lit space that appeared to be the Tomb Rear Hall.

Ch. 1039The Black Stone Coffins Appeared

Old Lin and the others discovered an illuminated underground hall containing eleven black stone coffins arranged where twelve should have been. Despite their unease, the eleven cultivators agreed to open one coffin each and approached them separately.

  • Old Lin and the others crossed an underground square and found a vast hall with a nine-dragon altar that a rogue cultivator identified as Near-Ancient in style.
  • The cultivators sent their spirit creatures up the altar and found no danger, then descended behind it into a side hall.
  • Old Lin counted eleven black stone coffins arranged by the twelve Earthly Branches and noticed that one coffin was missing.
  • Old Lin proposed that the eleven cultivators each open a coffin and keep any discoveries among themselves.
  • The cultivators accepted the plan and separated through the archways to approach individual coffins.

Ch. 1040Both alive and dead

Shui Lingyue left her coffin unopened while the others looted theirs, then followed them in silence. In the rear camp, Fang Qianyuan identified Yang Xia among the people he was investigating, but Wu Ziyun’s divination revealed that twelve people were both alive and dead, their fates hidden by a strange power.

  • Old Lin cautiously opened his stone coffin while Shui Lingyue remained distracted by Yang Xia’s disappearance.
  • Shui Lingyue decided not to open her coffin, believing the Sect would claim any treasures, and silently followed the others away.
  • Fang Qianyuan reviewed the dossiers of sixteen people surnamed Yang and identified Yang Xia as the person he sought.
  • Fang Qianyuan asked Wu Ziyun to divine the lives and fates of the people on a list.
  • Wu Ziyun said more than half had died, some had survived, and twelve were both alive and dead, beyond his ability to read.
