Lin Wei leaned against the door and yawned, raising a hand to rub her eyes haphazardly as she mumbled.

"Should be fine. Give me a moment."

With that, she beckoned toward the study. A sheet of plain writing paper floated out of the window and landed in her palm. A speck of spirit light gathered at her fingertip, and she swiftly covered the paper with writing. When she folded it into a paper crane, her hand slipped, nearly bending a wing backward.

She paid it no mind. Cupping it near her lips, she blew gently, and the paper crane wobbled into the air, flapping its wings as it flew crookedly away.

Jin Si watched the paper crane nearly crash into a treetop and worried that the thing might plunge into a mountain ravine halfway there.

Lin Wei finally opened her eyes a little wider. She brushed a fallen leaf off her shoulder, her voice heavy with sleepy languor.

"Did you really kill off all the nearby evil spirits? Some cultivators and demonic beasts with excellent reputations died without a sound too. Their deaths were complete mysteries, and quite a few cultivators got a serious fright."

Two wisps of white vapor puffed from the Black Flood Dragon's nostrils.

"Those we killed had committed plenty of evil. We didn't ask about their reputations before killing them."

He explained it evenly. He truly had not asked about such things before acting.

Lin Wei blinked at him for a while. The Black Flood Dragon's thinking was rather difficult to fathom.

Waiting required patience. Jin Si disliked moving by nature, while Lin Wei could never get enough sleep. Together, neither was in any hurry. With nothing to do, they chatted idly about recent events.

She lazily brought up the ancient tomb discovered a while ago.
