The girl huddled beneath a tree, trembling.
The whispers around her were thin and incessant. Even covering her ears could not shut them out. She kept her head lowered, afraid to look up and see something horrifying.
By comparison, the silent little boy beside her seemed less frightening.
After sobbing for a while, she suddenly remembered something and began murmuring an incantation.
The incantation seemed to work. The uncanny creatures stopped approaching, but still prowled around her, whispering, seemingly intent on breaking her through relentless harassment.
Black Snake glanced at the girl as she gradually raised her head. The incantation was formidable, but unfortunately, she had almost no cultivation.
Had that old Daoist from years ago recited it, his life would probably have ended on this very mountain.

He doubled back in an instant, seized a hand reaching out from behind the tree, and dragged its owner into view. Again, he stabbed through it and tore upward until it vanished completely. The creature could not break free of his grip.
Its only thought at the end was that it had no idea whose Yin Spirit this was. He was far too tough...
