"You're saying he saw through your transformation the moment you went over?"
Inside the ordinary house, the white-haired man looked up from his newspaper at his sister in surprise. None of her earlier flippancy remained; her face was solemn.
"Yes. He exposed my disguise outright. But he wanted sunstone, so I tested him by saying he was a Radiant Knight. He didn't deny it."
The man knitted his brows.
"He wants sunstone and doesn't deny being a Radiant Knight. Although the Radiant Knight path is deeply mysterious, one of the hidden trump cards of the Dilga Empire's royal family, judging by sunstone's energy and elemental composition, along with the rumors about Radiant Knights, it should serve to stabilize existential force in the early stages."
Chris immediately objected.
"Mulan Jonester couldn't possibly be an early-stage Radiant Knight, or he couldn't have seen through me instantly. Perhaps he's preparing it for a junior, or perhaps it's a gemstone to present to that beautiful Queen of Dierjia."
"Those possibilities can't be ruled out. In any case, his arrival is good news for us. Besides, the Dilga Empire has always taken a forceful stance. Although it didn't win the war, it could be considered the victor in the confrontation within the mystical world. Otherwise, the other side would never have agreed to peace talks."
Chris sat down opposite her brother and crossed her legs.
"But my dear brother, what if we fail? Do we abandon our fairly comfortable lives and go on the run?"
"Then why don't we just forget the whole thing? Let the auction proceed as usual and make ourselves scarce?"
The white-haired man asked with a smile, and Chris's expression changed at once.
"Absolutely not! After what he put us through, we'll make him pay ten times, a hundred times over.
