Because he had needed to protect Moor, Handel had begun sensing the Otherworld long ago thanks to Mulan's intervention. Of everyone present, he was the only one who could be considered "experienced."
That also made Handel one of the few who could remain somewhat calm even under such extreme circumstances. He keenly noticed a few things.
Although the students stood at the boundary, there was still a buffer when they came into contact with the Otherworld. The monsters had all charged in, but they had not yet fully reached the students. So when the hundreds of students fled, even those who seemed to collide with monsters were not actually caught right away.
Realizing this, Handel darted out of the hall while shouting to the panicked students.
"Everyone, listen! They can't touch us right away! Find somewhere to hide! Don't run alone, but don't gather in large groups either! The professor wouldn't send us to our deaths! Hold on! The more afraid you are, the easier it is for them to touch you!"
Handel's shout was loud, and some students quickly calmed down. But more kept fleeing in panic, seemingly without hearing him clearly at all.
"Handel, let's stick together!"
"Upton, go find Ewan and the others."
His friends came over to join him. After shouting his warning, Handel had no time to worry about anything else and fled with them.
"Aah!"
A shrill scream rose behind them. Handel and Upton instinctively looked back. At the doorway leading into the hall, hordes of terrifying monsters lurking in the shadows were pouncing, and screams rang out without end.
"Aaargh! Help me!"
"Don't leave me! Professor!"
Scream after scream rang out. More than one person had been caught!
"Go!"
No one dared stop to save anyone, and Upton and Handel were no exception.
