"What? I went to Kingsbia and killed a man-eating monster?"
In the faculty office, Mulan was preparing materials for an important class in a few days when he looked in surprise at Lady Glando, who had come from the Royal Palace. She shrugged.
"That's what Kingsbia's telegram of thanks said, anyway. So the Queen joked that I should come and see whether you'd secretly slipped off to Kingsbia."
Mulan actually did intend to visit Kingsbia. He needed to draw some true blood from Farolynch so Balu could perform Human Transmutation, but he certainly had no plans to leave yet.
"Then have they found out who actually did it, and why they're giving me the credit?"
Glando's smile faded. Her gaze swept over the notes on Mulan's desk before returning to his serious face.
"That's precisely the problem. People from the Holy Temple have already inspected the site in Kingsbia. There were indeed no traces of holy light, but there was unquestionably an intense burst of light and heat. In fact, they think it bears some resemblance to what you did in Lorint."
"Even the Holy Temple's people said that?"
Mulan found that interesting and considered the possibilities. Generally, when the use of light-based powers was involved, there were only three kinds of people: members of the widely established Holy Temple, Radiant Knights, and those on the resurrector path.
"Could it be Farolynch?"
Mulan could not help wondering. But although Farolynch had entered the realm of reality, he was certainly not yet capable of wielding the power of light, at least not to such an extraordinary degree-unless he had already reached the rank of Dawn Apostle.
"How about this? I'll find some time to inspect the site myself."
Glando thought for a moment, then nodded.
"All right. That's what I'll report
