Even though the Kordel People had abandoned the faith of the Quinas Civilization, ravens remained sacred animals in their traditions. As more and more ravens appeared, the Kordel People along the road visibly lost their earlier ease. Many came out of their homes to look around.

"Is it because of us outsiders, or because of the ravens?"
Solomon looked at Mulan walking ahead and quietly explained to his three brothers, who knew little about the Kordel People.
"Ravens are sacred animals to the Kordel People. They believe ravens carry away the souls of the dead and bring purification, so when they see this many ravens suddenly appear, they take it as some kind of omen."
Phoenix seemed to recall something as he listened to Solomon.
"Now that you mention it, I remember something. Ten years ago, when I was still a soldier, I took part in an operation to wipe out a cult in the central region. It was a pretty big affair. The nearby armies deployed twelve battalions. I think the cult leaders were Kordel People. They had raven symbols."
Mulan heard Phoenix and turned his head to ask, "What had that cult done?"
If a new faith had already arisen among the Kordel People, and it was a faith placed in an evil god, then perhaps their entire people had been corrupted. In that case, Mulan's visit might serve no purpose beyond finding records.
Seeing that Mulan was interested as well, Phoenix immediately perked up. He stopped speaking casually and carefully searched his memories before continuing.
