Mulan's target had shifted from ordinary Kordel People to the Raven Church. This would clearly be more efficient, and he believed there had to be members of the Raven Church in Liventemi, the Kordel People's Ancestral Land. At the very least, their ties to the church could not have been severed.
When ordinary Kordel People believed the five outsiders belonged to the Raven Church, what would the more perceptive among them think? What about the church members hiding here, or those with connections to it? With a few hints laid out, Mulan was eagerly awaiting their next move.
As expected, the Kordel People did not dare neglect the five outsiders. Though there were only five mouths to feed, they brought over a whole roast wild boar to start with, along with mountain fruits and assorted vegetables. It was midsummer in Basman in the northern hemisphere, and the mountains offered an abundance of produce.
But as it turned out, the Kordel People were still rather innocent. They had no idea how terrifying some outsiders' appetites could be. Mulan did not eat much-only enough for two or three people-but the four Silent Knights were practically human eating machines.
With the Kordel People telling them to eat their fill, a single wild boar barely whetted their appetites. The four normally kept their food intake suppressed, which meant they were always slightly hungry. Once that hunger received a certain signal, their stomachs immediately secreted copious amounts of acid, turning mild hunger into ravenous hunger.
In the firelight around the cliff, the four Silent Knights terrified those assigned to bring them food. Their eyes, the speed at which they ate-they looked like demons that had crawled out of hell and were about to devour the people as well.
