In the darkened sky, a blood moon bearing nine black tomoe hung overhead, looking eerily sinister.
Obito Uchiha trembled slightly as he gazed at the monstrous figure towering higher than the mountains, like a god and a demon alike. "That's right! This is the power of the Ten-Tails!"

The earth trembled incessantly as the immense body of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path began to transform, becoming a gigantic God Tree that reached into the heavens. A sinister, bewitching flower stood poised to bloom beneath the blood-red moonlight.
Looking at the still-excited Obito Uchiha, Madara Uchiha said coldly, "Enough. The God Tree has descended. Your only mission now is to use Rinne Rebirth to resurrect me."

Before Obito Uchiha could gather his wits, he suddenly dropped to his knees, clutching his heart. Piercing agony shot through it, forcing screams of pain from his mouth. The Cursed Seal planted in his heart had been activated and was taking effect.
A black substance seized the opportunity to shoot out of the ground beneath his feet and cling to Obito Uchiha. Within moments, it covered half his body and began wresting control of it from him.
"Black Zetsu! You bastard, how dare you control my body!" Fighting through the piercing agony caused by the Cursed Seal in his heart, Obito Uchiha
