Waking from his slumber, Ye Uchiha rubbed his eyelids and sat up on the laboratory table. He felt as though he had suffered a nightmare, but he could not remember what it had been about.
Orochimaru's voice came from beside him. "You're finally awake. How do you feel?"
"What happened to me..." Holding his still-aching head with one hand, Ye Uchiha felt that something had changed in his body and eyes, but he could not put his finger on it.
"The awakening of your Sage Body and Rinnegan was a complete success. Congratulations."
"My Sage Body and Rinnegan?"
At Orochimaru's reminder, Ye Uchiha instantly remembered coming to him to awaken his Sage Body and Rinnegan. For some reason, however, he could no longer remember the process. It was as though a voice somewhere beyond his awareness was warning him: You'd better not remember.
A blood-red Mangekyō appeared in Ye Uchiha's black eyes, then six ripples spread across them, transforming them into an exceptionally intimidating pair of purple Rinnegan with six concentric rings.
"So this is the Rinnegan..."
It felt somewhat unreal to Ye Uchiha, yet he could use every ability of the Rinnegan's Six Paths with a mere thought, as naturally as an instinct.
There was also his Wood Release Sage Body. Ye Uchiha opened his palm, and a tender green seedling sprouted from it, growing vigorously at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"All right, let's run a physical examination and record the results first." Orochimaru patted Ye Uchiha on the shoulder.
After being scanned from head to toe by complicated, incomprehensible machines and undergoing a series of examinations with Orochimaru, Ye Uchiha was brusquely sent on his way. He left the laboratory in a daze.
"I have the Rinnegan and a Sage Body now?"
