Background / History

Ye originally lived on Earth and retained memories of games and fictional worlds after transmigrating into the Shinobi World’s Warring States Period. He became Madara Uchiha’s younger cousin and was raised by Natsuno and Tsubaki. His early ambition was modest: survive peacefully with his loved ones and eventually witness Naruto’s story 2 23.

At four, he blackmailed his father for spending money over visits to the Red-Light District. That carefree relationship changed when Natsuno was ordered to lead a surprise attack against the Senju. The family’s position had already declined after Ye’s grandfather, Un, died fighting the Hagoromo Clan; Natsuno’s assignment was influenced by both his military reputation and inherited clan rivalries. Ye’s parents eventually died in war, leaving him an only-child orphan 6 23 27.

Years of fighting earned Ye the title God of Slaughter. He later helped found Konoha and proposed unifying the Shinobi World under a centralized government. Madara and Tobirama were initially receptive, but Hashirama rejected the proposal because the conquest would cause further suffering. Tobirama urged him to intervene in Madara and Hashirama’s battle at the Valley of the End. Instead of stopping them, Ye became the third participant in their melee. He teases his father as a child, provokes fellow Taoist disciples under the guise of “guidance,” and impersonates Madara’s father to make their reunion deliberately infuriating. He is proud of his reputation as a formidable fighter but cares little for fame itself 23 34 64 106 119.

His original wish for family peace develops into a pursuit of power and centralized rule. He treats research, interworld resources, and recruitment as more reliable paths to growth than conventional training. Rather than expect unconditional loyalty, he offers followers concrete incentives, including resurrection and access to stronger bodies 31 34 40 138.

Ye is tactically adaptable but often morally ruthless. He prioritizes enemy support units, changes techniques when opponents counter his plans, and recognizes when stronger enemies require allied support. The same pragmatism leads him to rewrite minds, kidnap useful recruits, betray Naruto and Killer B, and order rebels killed 17 28 41 103 106 121 138.

He condemns collective punishment and protagonists who implicate innocent relatives in their vendettas. Nevertheless, he justifies lethal retaliation against people who threaten him, even while presenting his own restraint as mercy.
