The other Jonin caught the aroma and all looked at Kakashi.
They wondered whether Kakashi had backed Zhou Cheng so strongly just for a taste of his food.
Kurama Yakumo watched Zhou Cheng bustle around the kitchen with curiosity written all over her face.
Her large eyes were full of surprise. She had never expected Cheng Zhou to have this talent, too. She had always thought he only knew how to grill meat!
Soon, plates of dishes that looked, smelled, and tasted wonderful were brought to the table.
Everyone already seated at the table stared at the delicious food with shining eyes.
After bringing out the last dish, Zhou Cheng sat down as well.
He smiled and invited them to dig in, delighted by their eager expressions:
"Don't be shy. Eat up!"
Whoosh!
The courtyard instantly became a battlefield-a battle for food, fought without smoke or gunfire.
But for all their grabbing and commotion, no one got worked up. They competed for the food in a playful spirit.
The Jonin tasting Zhou Cheng's cooking for the first time all ate ravenously, their eyes wide as they stuffed their mouths.
Even the usually introverted Kurama Yakumo had completely abandoned her ladylike image. She ate like a little tabby cat, grease smeared around her mouth.
This was so much better than grilled meat. She wanted to eat food this delicious every day.
A hint of tenderness and shyness entered her eyes as she looked at Zhou Cheng.
The meal lasted a full hour.
Strangely enough, everyone focused entirely on eating, and no one spoke. Even so, they ate for over an hour.
Once they had eaten and drunk their fill, everyone patted their bulging stomachs in satisfaction.
They had eaten more in this one meal than they usually did in three days.
