Through streets and alleys, the human puppets' attacks grew ever stranger and more ferocious. They no longer distinguished friend from foe. Against Sand Ninja and Sound Ninja, they were merciless killing machines, every blade strike fatal, blasts of light flying everywhere, each kill carried out with chilling efficiency. When facing Konoha Ninja, however, they adopted a different strategy.
"Thud!" A Konoha Genin took a heavy punch to the back of the head and instantly collapsed unconscious, looking as though he had been beaten to death.
"Boom!" A blast of light grazed another Konoha Chunin. Though it did not directly strike a vital spot, the explosion still made him cough up blood and collapse. He twitched a few times on the ground, then lay still, looking as though he had been killed.
These Konoha Ninja who were "playing dead" or had been "knocked unconscious" undoubtedly added further uncertainty to the already chaotic battlefield. They also successfully drew the attention and rescue efforts of nearby Konoha Ninja, exposing more targets to the human puppets.
"Squelch!"
After one human puppet killed a Sand Ninja, another ripple passed through the chakra network.
