"Then wouldn't it be hard to learn without the Byakugan?" Toru Kujyo continued steering the conversation.
"Not necessarily..." Hinata thought for a moment. "The clan has detailed Human Acupoint Charts and scrolls on acupoint techniques. As long as you memorize the locations and practice diligently, you can master some of it. But the power and precision definitely won't compare to using it with the Byakugan."
"Oh? There are scrolls like that?" Toru Kujyo looked interested. "I've been studying the body's chakra pathways lately. Could I borrow them for a look? They might help with my training, too."
The innocent Hinata thought nothing of it. She was simply happy to be able to help Toru Kujyo, so she agreed. The next day, she secretly took a detailed chart of the body's chakra pathways and acupoints, along with a scroll recording basic acupoint techniques, from her family's library and handed them to him.
Toru Kujyo accepted the scrolls, inwardly delighted. Although he had [Medical Talent], his knowledge of acupoints was largely focused on healing, while the Hyuga Clan's acupoint techniques emphasized disrupting and blocking chakra flow. Combining the two would undoubtedly deepen his understanding of the human body.
Summer vacation soon drew to a close.
After a whole vacation of grueling training, Hinata's strength had undergone a dramatic transformation. Not only had she perfectly mastered Tree Climbing and Water Walking, but she had also become quite proficient with the Three Basic Techniques.
Her Gentle Fist Pressure Point Technique had become much more precise and ruthless. Although she still lacked power, her technique already far surpassed that of her peers.
The only disappointment was the Shadow Clone Technique. Because it required substantial chakra reserves, all her attempts had failed. The clones she produced were indistinct and quickly dissipated.
Today was their final training session of summer vacation. Toru Kujyo decided to give her one last test, hoping to get more useful traits to drop as well.
"Hinata, attack me with everything you've got. Let me see the results of your training this vacation." Toru Kujyo stood in the center of the training ground, his expression serious.
"Yes!" Hinata's gaze sharpened as she assumed a Gentle Fist stance. Her entire demeanor changed, becoming fierce and focused.
"Hah!" With a sharp cry, she launched the first attack! She was faster than before, and her attacks flowed together more smoothly!
The two immediately clashed. Fists and palms collided, sending gusts of force swirling around them. Hinata pushed her Gentle Fist techniques to their fullest. Fingertips, palm heels, elbows-every part of her body became a weapon as she relentlessly attacked the acupoints all over Toru Kujyo's body.
Toru Kujyo countered each move, occasionally retaliating with the Pressure Point Technique he had "stolen" from Hinata. He found that although her technique was precise, it lacked power and penetration, making it largely ineffective against him.
His own Pressure Point Technique, backed by greater strength and chakra control, easily disrupted Hinata's chakra flow and made her movements falter.
The fight grew increasingly intense. Hinata was knocked to the ground, only to get back up, fierce fighting spirit blazing in her eyes. She knew this was their last training session, and she wanted Toru Kujyo to see her at her strongest!
During one fierce exchange, Hinata poured everything she had into a precise Pressure Point Technique that finally broke through Toru Kujyo's defenses and landed on his arm! Although his [Otsutsuki Bloodline] quickly neutralized the chakra, that fleeting numbness made his eyes light up.
At the same time, a notification appeared before him:
[Ding! Target Hinata Hyuga has demonstrated exceptional talent for chakra control while pushed to her limits. Pick up the blue trait 'Chakra Control'?]
Pick it up! Toru Kujyo commanded silently.
A cool sensation flowed into his body, and his perception and manipulation of his own chakra seemed to grow a little more refined. He glanced at his panel. A small plus sign had appeared beside [Chakra Control (blue)].
"Still not enough!" Toru Kujyo's gaze sharpened. A blue trait was just an appetizer. What he wanted was red!
He changed his attack again, no longer limiting himself to taijutsu. His hands formed seals. "Wind Release: Wind Cutter!"
A pale blue-green blade of wind appeared out of thin air, grazing Hinata's cheek as it flew past and severing several strands of her hair.
Startled, Hinata instinctively activated her Byakugan! Veins bulged across her forehead and around her eyes. Through her pure white eyes, her three-hundred-and-sixty-degree field of vision captured every movement Toru Kujyo made, and his chakra flow became clearly visible.
"Now!" This was precisely the moment Toru Kujyo had been waiting for! He closed in again, unleashing a storm of attacks!
With her Byakugan active, Hinata's reaction speed and perception improved dramatically. She actually managed to barely keep pace with Toru Kujyo, and the two were locked in another fierce exchange. Combining Gentle Fist acupoint strikes with the Byakugan's perception multiplied their power!
Thump!
Their fists collided once more, and the tremendous force sent Hinata staggering backward, a trace of blood spilling from the corner of her mouth. Yet she kept her Byakugan active, her gaze fixed firmly on Toru Kujyo.
[Ding! Target Hinata Hyuga's Kekkei Genkai 'Byakugan' is highly activated. Pick up the purple trait 'Kekkei Genkai: Byakugan'?]
A purple trait! Toru Kujyo's heart stirred. The Byakugan! This was the very foundation of the Hyuga Clan!
If I fuse with this Byakugan trait, can it evolve into the Tenseigan? he immediately asked the system in his mind.
[Fusing with this trait grants the Byakugan ability, but it cannot directly evolve into the Tenseigan. Awakening the Tenseigan requires more complex conditions: combining the Byakugan of Hamura Otsutsuki's descendants (Hyuga/lunar Otsutsuki) with your own vast chakra reserves (a sage body or Otsutsuki chakra is recommended).]
As expected, it wouldn't work. Toru Kujyo was somewhat disappointed, but he had anticipated this. The Tenseigan was hardly that easy to obtain. Since it couldn't evolve directly, this purple trait wasn't all that valuable to him. He already possessed [Otsutsuki Bloodline], with potential far beyond an ordinary Byakugan. There was no need to fuse with another one.
Dismantle it! Toru Kujyo made his decision.
[Successfully dismantled 'Kekkei Genkai: Byakugan (purple)'. Gained 1,200 points.]
The points were his! Toru Kujyo nodded in satisfaction. Although no red trait had dropped, an upgradable blue trait and 1,200 points were still a decent haul.
He stopped attacking and looked at Hinata. She was still panting, blood staining the corner of her mouth, but her eyes remained resolute. He gave her a genuine smile. "Very good, Hinata. You passed."
With the battle over, Toru Kujyo brought up his panel for a look:
