"Little San, it looks like it's going to rain." Yu Xiaogang suddenly felt raindrops landing on his face.
"Rain!" Tang San suddenly propped himself up and looked at the sky.
He held out his hand to check. It really was starting to rain.
"Wait, Teacher, we don't even have anywhere to stay. It's going to rain, and you're not worried?"
Looking at Yu Xiaogang, who seemed completely untroubled, Tang San was on the verge of falling apart.
Come on, I'm still a child! You can get rained on all you like, Gangzi.
But if I get soaked and have no dry clothes to change into, what if I get sick?
They didn't even know where they were right now.
There wasn't so much as a village nearby.
The consequences of falling ill somewhere like this were all too easy to imagine.
But then Tang San suddenly relaxed.
He had nearly forgotten that he was a disciple of the Tang Sect.
He knew all sorts of medicinal herbs inside out, so even if he fell sick, he would be fine.
Besides, they were Soul Masters. Their constitutions were far stronger than ordinary people's, so they probably wouldn't get sick that easily.
"Little San, stay calm. We're Soul Masters. It's only a little rain," Yu Xiaogang said calmly.
"Besides, isn't this a kind of tempering too? Only by weathering wind and rain can you grow, right?"
"Back when I traveled the continent in my youth, what hadn't I seen? This little drizzle isn't even worth mentioning."
Tang San nodded in agreement.
Soon, the rain grew heavier and heavier.
A clap of thunder rang out.
Yu Xiaogang and Tang San both moved away from beneath the tree.
Tang San simply feared getting struck by lightning.
Yu Xiaogang, however, stared excitedly at the lightning flashing across the sky from time to time.
"Little San, an opportunity! A wonderful opportunity!" Yu Xiaogang grabbed Tang San's shoulders, making no effort to hide his excitement.
Tang San stared blankly at Yu Xiaogang, wondering what madness had come over him.
"Teacher, what opportunity?"
Yu Xiaogang pointed at the lightning overhead. "Electricity! Tell me, if I send Luo Sanpao up there, could it trigger a second mutation?"
Honestly, ever since Luo Sanpao's fart had met fire and exploded last time...
He had been thinking about this constantly.
After all, Luo Sanpao had mutated from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul.
If Luo Sanpao was exposed to lightning, could the mutation reverse?
Would he finally be able to break past rank twenty-nine?
He had kept this bottled up inside for a long time.
Now, at last, he had his chance.
Yu Xiaogang was already imagining his martial soul mutating again and becoming immensely powerful.
Then all the elders of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan would beg him to return.
They might even get on their knees and beg him to come back as clan chief.
Even his father would plead with him to return.
At the thought, Yu Xiaogang couldn't help grinning foolishly.
Tang San was utterly bewildered, his face full of alarm. "Wait, Teacher, have you gone mad?"
"Are you sure that won't get Luo Sanpao struck dead?"
Yu Xiaogang waved a hand. "How could it? Luo Sanpao is only my martial soul."
"Right, I haven't told you about my background yet, have I?"
"Let me tell you all about it now."
"Little San, do you know how the powers on the Douluo Continent are divided?"
Tang San shook his head. He really didn't know.
Still, Yu Xiaogang's words had piqued his curiosity.
"Teacher, what powers are there on the continent?"
Yu Xiaogang smiled faintly and began explaining. "You should already know about Spirit Hall."
"Then there are the two great empires, the Heaven Dou Empire and the Star Luo Empire."
"After them come the Seven Great Sects."
"And the Seven Great Sects are divided into the Upper Three Sects and the Lower Four Sects."
"The Upper Three Sects are the Clear Sky Sect, famed for having the number one Tool Martial Soul; the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, with the number one Support Martial Soul; and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, whose Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon is the continent's number one beast martial soul."
"The Lower Four Sects are the Elephant Armor Sect, the Fire Leopard Sect, the Black Rock Sect, and the Holy Dragon Sect. Of course, none of that matters. What matters is, do you know where I come from?"
Tang San fell into thought. Since Yu Xiaogang had put it that way, he must have come from one of those powers.
But Yu Xiaogang's martial soul had absolutely nothing in common with any of those sects.
Which sect could that pig-dog martial soul of his possibly be connected to?
Unable to think of an answer, Tang San shook his head and said, "Teacher, I don't know."
Yu Xiaogang smiled. "Your teacher comes from the clan with the number one beast martial soul, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan."
Tang San asked in confusion, "But, Teacher, your martial soul isn't a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon."
Yu Xiaogang's expression froze. Really? You just had to poke the sore spot.
Shouldn't you be shocked that I'm from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan?
Why focus on my martial soul?
Despite those thoughts, he quickly composed his expression.
"My martial soul mutated. I believe I told you that the vast majority of mutated martial souls change for the worse."
"Only a tiny minority of mutated martial souls change for the better, like Su Mo's."
At the mention of Su Mo, Yu Xiaogang's expression darkened.
After all, Su Mo had given him a thorough tongue-lashing earlier.
Hmph. Now that I've left Notting Academy, without my theoretical support, Su Mo probably won't get very far.
He has only himself to blame. If I were still there, I might have offered him a pointer or two when I was in a good mood.
Had Su Mo known, he probably would have burst out laughing.
He had no idea how Yu Xiaogang could be so shameless.
The man really thought no one could grow stronger without him.
Unfortunately, Su Mo knew nothing about any of this.
Tang San's expression also soured when he heard Su Mo's name.
It reminded him of Xiao Wu. He wondered whether she was still sharing a bed with Su Mo.
My Xiao Wu... how could she sink so low?
Grief and indignation filled Tang San's heart. No, I have to get stronger fast.
Meanwhile, Su Mo was lying in bed, watching the torrential rain outside.
Xiao Wu hugged him. "Su Mo, it's raining so hard outside. Do you think the academy will flood?"
Speechless, Su Mo flicked her delicate forehead. "What goes through that head of yours all day?"
Xiao Wu rubbed her forehead and complained, "I was only joking, and you actually dared to hit Sister Xiao Wu."
"You're done for, Su Mo! Crow Rides a Plane!"
Xiao Wu rolled over and sat right on top of Su Mo.
"Well? Do you surrender?"
She raised her little fists and waved them twice in front of him.
Su Mo nodded helplessly. "I surrender, I surrender. Can you get off?"
"Hmph, you don't mean it at all. You're just humoring me. I'm not getting off!"
Xiao Wu lifted her pert bottom, then dropped heavily onto him again.
"Stop, stop, stop! I surrender!" Su Mo felt as though his abdomen had taken a heavy blow.
It nearly knocked him out cold.
Xiao Wu smiled smugly. "Hehe, let's see if you dare do that again."
She rolled over and lay down beside Su Mo again.
Su Mo rubbed his aching stomach. This girl really had no sense of how much force to use.
"By the way, Xiao Wu, have you put on weight?"
"Huh?! Have I?" Xiao Wu lifted her top and glanced at her smooth, flat little belly.
"Oh, so that's how it is, Su Mo! Are you calling me fat?!"
