"Teacher, is this really necessary?"
Tang San watched as Yu Xiaogang all but trussed Luo Sanpao up like a rice dumpling.
He had even stuffed a white radish into Luo Sanpao's mouth.
Yet Luo Sanpao stared at them blankly.
He had no idea what Yu Xiaogang intended to do.
Yu Xiaogang shook his head. "I'm just worried Luo Sanpao might start squirming later."
"All right, Little San, hurry up and take Luo Sanpao up there."
Yu Xiaogang shoved Luo Sanpao into Tang San's arms.
Looking down at the tightly bound Luo Sanpao in his arms, Tang San hesitated again.
"Teacher, am I going up alone? Are you sure you aren't coming?"
Mostly, Tang San was scared. Thunder was rumbling overhead. What if he couldn't react in time and got struck by lightning?
So he figured that if Yu Xiaogang came along, at least he would have someone to take the fall with him.
"I'd better stay down here. What if you can't get high enough?"
Yu Xiaogang glanced fearfully at the sky.
What if I get struck by lightning?
He couldn't risk himself on something like this.
As for Tang San, well, that was fine. Tang San would be contributing to his theory.
As long as this experiment succeeded, he would undoubtedly become a true grandmaster of theory.
Tang San could then share in his fame across the continent.
This was an opportunity he was giving Tang San!
"Little San, don't be afraid. Once you're in the air, just throw Luo Sanpao upward. I'll have Luo Sanpao use Thunderous Fart."
"That way, Luo Sanpao will definitely reach a sufficient height."
"All right, enough chatter. Hurry up and use Blue Silver Pole Vault to send Luo Sanpao into the thunderclouds."
Tang San lowered his head and glanced at Luo Sanpao. "Teacher, last time I rode Luo Sanpao up into the sky. This time is different. What if I can't get high enough?"
Despite all his fine words earlier, Tang San hesitated now that the crucial moment had arrived.
Fuck, you make it sound so easy, Gangzi. Just go up and toss Luo Sanpao into the sky.
Then why aren't you coming along?
"It's close enough. Same thing. You can do it, Little San. I believe in you!" Yu Xiaogang waved a hand, cheering Tang San on.
Tang San let out a deep breath. Honestly, he really wanted to refuse now.
But judging by the look in Yu Xiaogang's eyes, refusing clearly wouldn't do any good.
Besides, he genuinely wanted to know whether Yu Xiaogang's theory could succeed.
If martial souls really could mutate after birth, then his Blue Silver Grass should be able to as well.
Gritting his teeth, he told Yu Xiaogang, "Teacher, step back. I'm going up now!"
Tang San condensed his Blue Silver Grass into a bamboo pole and glanced up at the sky.
Lightning was periodically tearing streaks through the air.
"First Soul Skill, Blue Silver Pole Vault!"
Tang San and Luo Sanpao shot straight toward the sky. Luo Sanpao seemed to realize what was about to happen.
Terror filled his eyes, and his limbs flailed wildly in midair.
Unfortunately, Yu Xiaogang had bound him tightly, making it difficult even to struggle free.
As he climbed higher and higher, Tang San fought back his fear and hurled Luo Sanpao upward with all his strength.
Luo Sanpao spun as he flew even higher.
Then Tang San shouted, "Luo Sanpao, Thunderous Fart!"
Hearing this, Luo Sanpao instinctively let out a fart.
His upward flight accelerated even further.
Watching the thunderclouds draw closer and closer, Luo Sanpao cried out in terror, "Luo, luo! Luo, luo!!"
Fear made him fart again, accelerating him even more.
Then a bolt of lightning as thick as a bucket struck down, hitting Luo Sanpao squarely.
Thanks to Luo Sanpao's fart, purple flames instantly burst across the sky.
An explosion thundered overhead.
Then a terrifying shock wave spread in every direction.
The shock wave slammed straight into Tang San, more than doubling the speed of his fall.
"Wait, Little San! Could you stop crashing into me every single time?!"
Yu Xiaogang watched Tang San hurtle toward him like a cannonball.
He didn't even have time to dodge before Tang San slammed into him, carving a crater into the ground.
Yu Xiaogang: Another day of getting flattened by a god.
There was no denying that Yu Xiaogang was tough to kill. Even after that, he suffered only minor injuries.
"Hiss... Little San, get up, quick." Yu Xiaogang felt pain all over his body.
Tang San hurriedly climbed off Yu Xiaogang.
"Teacher, are you all right?"
Yu Xiaogang struggled to his feet, shook his head, then looked up into the sky.
"Little San, did you see that? With that kind of power, even a Titled Douluo would probably be badly injured by a direct hit!"
He was thrilled. He hadn't expected Luo Sanpao's fart to inflict such tremendous damage when it encountered lightning.
"But, Teacher, even if that's true, what good does it do? You can't exactly summon lightning in battle, can you?"
Yu Xiaogang was momentarily speechless, then hurried to explain, "It's fine. Doesn't this indirectly show that there are still plenty of ways to develop Luo Sanpao's soul skill?"
"Speaking of which, Teacher, are you sure Luo Sanpao can survive?"
Tang San looked at the mushroom cloud still lingering overhead and asked worriedly.
With such a terrifying explosion, and Luo Sanpao right at its center, wasn't he worried Luo Sanpao might die?
Yu Xiaogang waved a hand. "It's fine. Luo Sanpao is only my martial soul. He can't die."
As long as he remained alive, Luo Sanpao couldn't possibly die.
Besides, if Luo Sanpao suffered a fatal injury, he would return directly to his body.
Since Luo Sanpao hadn't returned, that meant he was still perfectly fine.
That was what excited Yu Xiaogang most.
Luo Sanpao had actually survived such a terrifying explosion unharmed. Didn't that mean his physique had grown stronger?
"I need to write this down. Lightning may be able to temper the physique."
Seeing Yu Xiaogang's excited expression,
Tang San suddenly shuddered, though he didn't know why.
Holy shit, Gangzi isn't going to try training me like this in the future, is he?
He instinctively took two steps back, feeling that Gangzi was far too unreliable now.
His own martial soul had been struck by such a thick bolt of lightning, yet he was still this excited, without the slightest concern for his martial soul.
Just then, Tang San saw Luo Sanpao plummeting toward them and hurriedly backed away.
"Teacher, get out of the way!"
Yu Xiaogang froze, then looked up. As luck would have it, Luo Sanpao's backside was pointed straight at him.
Then Luo Sanpao blasted Yu Xiaogang away with a fart.
Whether Luo Sanpao had done it deliberately was anyone's guess. Yu Xiaogang hadn't even ordered him to use a soul skill, yet he had unleashed it on his own.
And he had farted straight at Yu Xiaogang.
In an instant, Yu Xiaogang felt the world spin around him, as though part of him had died.
Luo Sanpao's farts were poisonous, and he had taken one head-on. How that felt needed no explanation.
Watching Yu Xiaogang get blasted away, Tang San's mouth twitched.
His attention, however, immediately fell on Luo Sanpao.
"Luo Sanpao, are you all right?"
He felt that even Luo Sanpao was more reliable than Yu Xiaogang.
Luo Sanpao gave two cries of "luo, luo," indicating that he was fine.
His entire body, however, was pitch-black, every hair stood on end, and smoke was still rising from his mouth.
Tang San marveled that he could be fine even after all that.
