The argument came from two young men, and naturally, a woman was at the heart of it.
Arthur was quite familiar with one of the voices.
It belonged to Will Koss, the young man who had once wanted his autograph and had been tricked and extorted by gang members on Rat Street over it.
The other was most likely the Chelmi he had mentioned.
The two young men argued fiercely, their voices carrying far-
"Linda is mine!"
"Linda will always be mine!"
Butler Orr heard shouts like these as well.
The old butler let out a helpless sigh.
"Mr. Will Koss and Mr. Chelmi are both fine young men, but neither is calm enough when it comes to Miss Linda.
Mr. Koss's father was one of the shareholders in the Camille family's Inner Bay interests. Although he passed away long ago, Mr. Koss still receives dividends from those holdings.
As for Mr. Chelmi... this gentleman previously did something very irrational, causing his father, Dr. Chelmi, to resign from my service in shame."
The old butler shook his head as he spoke.

Arthur made that assessment inwardly and was about to ignore this romantic rivalry when the earlier shouting rang out again-
"Come on! Kill me if you've got the guts!"
"Koss, don't make me look down on you!"
"Kill me if you've got the guts!"
Maltz could no longer turn a blind eye to words like these.
The Chief looked at Arthur, then walked over after Arthur gave a slight nod.
About a dozen seconds later, a sharp rebuke from the Chief ended the argument.
Two minutes later, the Chief returned.
"They were quite stubborn at first."
"But once I drew my sword, they were willing to listen to advice."
Maltz briefly explained what had happened.
