Arthur believed the happiest thing in the world was "one man, one stick, leaving no flower or blade of grass standing in his wake."
The most satisfying thing, meanwhile, was taking stock of his possessions.
The former was carefree, pure happiness.
The latter took painstaking effort, but brimmed with hope.
They were utterly contradictory, yet both were things people could spend their whole lives longing for in vain.
So whenever either came along, it had to be cherished.
Arthur was no exception.
After carefully and thoroughly examining the spoils he had poured out of the [Athos Box], he began sorting them into categories-
Ordinary items: one short club, 4 longswords, 5 shortswords, 8 hand crossbows, 3 flintlocks, 2 sticks of explosives, 17 throwing knives, and 18 throwing darts.
Potions: known poisons-aconite, oleander, ginkgo seed, and cassava extracts; 3 unidentified bottles.
Scrolls: Fire Arrow ×6, Ice Arrow ×5, Poison Smoke ×2, Knock ×1, Feather Fall ×1, Memory Art ×1, Flash ×1, Candlelight ×1, Minor Wound Healing ×1, Light Wound Healing, Moderate Wound Healing.
Arcane items: [Tyr's Caress], [Illusion Fireworks Tube], [Lannister's Heightening Insoles].
Mystic arts: Stone Pellet Art.
Money: 107 Gold Tickets, 45 Sol, 22 Los.
There were no large-denomination Gold Tickets or checks. These people from the mystical side clearly weren't wealthy, or perhaps they simply hadn't brought any along on their mission.
There wasn't much to say about the ordinary items. They were all weapons convenient to carry. Judging by their proportions, these people from the mystical side were strongly averse to "newfangled items" such as flintlocks and explosives-Arthur wasn't surprised. No one who stood high above ordinary mortals would readily accept an "ordinary tool" erasing that difference.
Call it pride or call it conviction.
Arthur, however, treated them all alike. He had always believed practicality was king.
