The sudden heart palpitations did not make Arthur panic.
The young Medium certainly did not stand up to scan his surroundings. He remained seated on the log beside the firepit, discreetly examining the area.
On this early autumn night, the wilderness had not only grown chilly, but the darkness had deepened as well. The occasional cries of nocturnal birds lent it an even stranger air.
Other than that, however, nothing warranted Arthur's attention.
He found nothing in his field of vision.
There was no presence within his [spirituality].
His [death intuition] did not flash, either.
The [Watchlight Lamp] showed no reaction.
Yet those heart palpitations had definitely not been his imagination!
What on earth was going on?
Arthur thought rapidly, but his expression only grew calmer. As he reached out to add firewood to the firepit, he switched perspectives.
He sent the Blood Scion, concealed farther away in the darkness, to patrol the surroundings.
Meanwhile, Fuginn, who had been resting in the woods, also took flight.
Arthur had brought only one raven. The other had remained at 2 Kirk Street to serve as a guard.
Soon, Fuginn's extraordinary eyesight locked onto someone.
At the same time, the Blood Scion discovered a group of people.
Two groups?
One group should be the Old Lion of the Inner Bay's people.
What about the other?
Were they the ones who caused those heart palpitations?
Arthur was slightly surprised. As a young, upright, innocent, and kind Medium, he had always remembered Old Charlie's teachings: "Be kind to others" and "If you strike, wipe out the whole family." Why were so many people watching him?
It definitely wasn't me!
Maybe Old Charlie had offended some lady again!
Drake or Cassandra might have caused some trouble, too!
Drake was more likely.
*Cassandra was only a middling
