Why had Arthur and the Blood Scion put on that double act?
Because they had an audience, of course!
The watchers Snake had driven away had withdrawn, but something had stayed behind.
Through Fuginn's eyes, Arthur could see it perfectly clearly.
So Arthur decided to let more information slip-
Not only did more people need to know that he and the Blood Scion were merely partners, they also needed to know that his severe injuries had yet to heal.
The former was meant to put people at ease.

Naturally, circumstances that qualified as unusual were few and far between.
Most of the time, things were still normal.
So he needed to create more favorable conditions for himself in battle.
Anyone facing someone whose severe injuries had yet to heal would let their guard down.
And that would give him an opening.
Of course, his own strength mattered more than anything.

With that thought, Arthur put Pendragon back into the cage, took a shovel from the carriage, and began burying the body-the Blood Scion had already searched it for him.
With repeated use, Arthur had grown increasingly familiar with the Blood Scion's power.
His control over that power had also become more precise.
At the very least, when enveloping an enemy in frost, he could "feel" whether the body had anything valuable tucked inside
