Malinda had barely walked a meter when a faint rush of air sounded inside the secret room.
Invisible poison gas seeped out through the vents.
As before, Malinda opened her mouth and exhaled smoke.
The smoke immediately split in two.
One portion swept toward the invisible poison gas.
The other clung to the books and desk like a force-field shield, with the notes on the desk receiving two successive layers in particular.
What followed proved just how necessary Malinda's caution had been.
Two seconds after the poison gas stopped, flames descended from above.
The flames came from an opening disguised as a vent, falling in a cone that engulfed most of the secret room. Only the entrance where Arthur stood remained untouched.
Watching Malinda pass through the flames unscathed, then dodge six arrows with another leap, Arthur applauded again-
"Beautiful technique. Malinda, your combat skills must be formidable.
That dodge had both the speed of a cheetah and the lightness of a hummingbird."
Only after confirming that there was no danger did Arthur emerge, offering his praise.
Malinda gritted her teeth.
She had never met such a shameless bastard.
Her anger and indignation stemmed from...
She had instinctively assumed they would walk side by side.
Just as they had before.
Who could have guessed that the bastard Arthur would take a step back and retreat into the passage they had come through?
"Does your family know how shameless you are?"
Malinda snapped.

They're the ones who taught me!
Didn't I tell you?"
Arthur blinked, his face a picture of innocence.
Malinda did not believe a word he said. She simply thought
