At Arthur's call, the white-haired man with the elegant bearing and icy gaze whom Didian, Garcia, and Langbain had met before stepped out of the shadows.
Only, unlike the icy gaze they remembered,
his eyes now brimmed with helplessness.
"My lord, please leave everything to me.
I will handle it properly."
As Grindelwald spoke, his gaze swept over Didian, Garcia, Langbain, and Sapier.
Sapier, who was seeing Grindelwald for the first time, stiffened the moment their eyes met, his hand involuntarily tightening around his mace.

Grindelwald froze.
Then guilt immediately surfaced on the middle-aged, white-haired man's face.
"My apologies, my lord. Old habits.
I...

As Grindelwald spoke, he looked at the four of them again.
This time, there was no killing intent in his eyes.
But,
there was still ill will!
All four could clearly sense the resentment in the white-haired man's heart.
And Didian knew exactly where that resentment came from.
When the white-haired man had "greeted" her and Garcia before, she had mistaken his pleasant manner for a calculated attempt to recruit them.
And so she had misunderstood.
She had not merely misunderstood that encounter.
She had also brought about this awkward situation.
