Arthur saw a short figure from behind.
Whose kid was that?
That was Arthur's first thought.
Then a second thought surfaced-

Whose kid could be that powerful?
But if that wasn't a child...
Wasn't that way too short?
Could that be a dwarf?
Arthur discreetly watched the figure, roughly four feet nine inches tall, and speculated.
That height really was about the same as some of the children nearby.
And...
He couldn't tell whether the person was male or female.
It wasn't just the clothing. There was also that swaggering gait. Yet the pale hand he had just seen wasn't something a man... no, a boy would have.
While Arthur was still thinking, the figure lit the squat firework with a match-
Whoosh, bang!
A ball of light shot into the sky and burst into a huge, dazzling firework.
The firework was beautiful. The adults around him gasped in admiration, while the children cheered nonstop.
But none of that mattered.
