Arthur followed Catherine through West Berlin Castle.
Unlike the Marquis of West Berlin, who had explained everything with pride, Catherine mostly complained about the castle's various rules-
"Arthur, did you know?
You aren't allowed to run or jump in the castle, or speak loudly, and you can't walk side by side.
Whenever several people are together, everyone has to walk in single file, in order of rank and status.
It feels awful, just like being a herd of livestock tied together."
The younger twin, walking beside Arthur, spoke indignantly.
"Do you follow those rules, then?"
Arthur asked with a smile.
"I have before."
Catherine lifted her chin and answered without a trace of shame.
Having followed them before naturally meant she ignored them most of the time.
Clearly, the younger twin behaved herself in front of the Marquis of West Berlin. But when he wasn't watching?
Naturally, that didn't count as breaking the rules.
"So that old steward must report on you quite often."
Arthur sounded certain.
Catherine's earlier gloating had told him everything.
"Not just that old steward, but those gossiping maids, too. They have no idea that tattling like that only ruins their chances of advancement-no one likes a tattletale, unless reporting is their actual duty. My eldest sister, in particular, handles these things with ease."
At the mention of her eldest sister, Catherine instinctively frowned.
A grave look filled the younger twin's emerald eyes.
"She puts quite a lot of pressure on you!"
Arthur obligingly sighed.
From Catherine's words, the young Medium had already pieced together a rough picture of the Marquis of West Berlin's eldest daughter.
She neither let favoritism spoil her nor wielded her authority recklessly. Instead, she achieved what she needed through subtle means.
