Inside the covered wagon drawn by two draft horses, Einhaas held his Twin Swords and dozed, while Euler nodded off across from him. Both were covered in scrapes, and the wound on Einhaas's back was so deep it exposed bone. It had nearly cleaved the young Witcher in two.
Windsor and Elizabeth likewise sat shoulder to shoulder at the front of the wagon, in the driver's seat.
Both were wounded as well.
But that did not stop them from whispering to each other.
Every so often, a clear laugh rang out.
It was Elizabeth's laughter.
Under the moonlight, Elizabeth's skin was so pale that it seemed to glow, like an elf beneath the moon. When she lowered her head and smiled, she drew Windsor's gaze all the more.
Of course, this was particularly cruel to the single Einhaas and Euler.
"Hey, hey, hey! I'm seriously wounded here!
Do you really think this is appropriate?"
Einhaas protested vehemently.
"Why don't you two just get married?"
Euler rolled his eyes in disapproval as well.
This time, however, neither Windsor nor Elizabeth responded with bashful evasions.
Windsor took Elizabeth's hand. They gazed at each other, their eyes filled with almost tangible devotion and tenderness, their faces radiant with smiles of happiness.
