Hearing the voice from the Communication Stone, Carral froze briefly, then immediately asked-
"The Lionheart Salute?
My lord?
Which lord?"
His tone was urgent. Clearly, Carral wanted a definite answer.
Miss Windsor's voice through the Communication Stone took on a distinctly haughty note.
"Who do you think?
Who else but Lord Arthur Credos?
Who else would I call my lord?"
At that, Miss Windsor gave a soft huff.
"When we next meet, I'll tell you all about it!"
Even without seeing Miss Windsor, Carral could instantly picture her gritting her teeth as she said, "tell you all about it."
Meanwhile, inside the suite, Jimte winked at Hayes, who lay with his head in Manta's lap.
Hayes immediately laughed.
"I thought Carral wasn't interested in women."
His voice was quiet, but Manta beside him heard every word.
She raised a hand and lightly tapped her lover's forehead.
Hayes immediately clutched his forehead and looked up at Manta with tearful eyes.
Manta lowered her head with a smile, gazing into Hayes's eyes.
Hayes propped himself up and leaned in to kiss her.
The sight made Jimte roll his eyes.
He scorned both Hayes's sappy affection and his act of playing dumb.
Or rather...
The man was instinctively using this behavior to hide his true feelings.
After hearing that Windsor had also sworn allegiance to their lord, and with the Lionheart Salute at that, Jimte was certain Hayes couldn't possibly remain unmoved.
Being different was sometimes something to be praised.
But at other times, it could leave a person deeply uneasy.
It was like a husky slipping into a pack of wolves. Even if it looked the same on the outside, what about on the inside?
It was probably terrified.
Especially someone as proud as Hayes. How could
