Just as Vira was about to say more, the sound of a Vax Corporation drone rang out overhead. Hearing it, Vira gave a bitter smile and said,

"If we make it back alive, I might change my opinion of you. What a shame."

Fat Jack shook his head and scoffed.

"See that? That's Vax Corporation for you. They could kill you outright, but they still put on an act and give you a little hope. Against scum like that, you can only fight violence with violence, evil with evil."

Vira smiled bitterly.

"You're still trying to drill those ideas of yours into me at a time like this?"

Fat Jack laughed.

"We still have a way out. Isn't beyond the door a perfectly good place to go?"

Vira froze. Then Fat Jack pressed a button on the half-mechanical overalls he wore, and a robot over two meters tall, nearly three, appeared before her.

Fat Jack's voice came from inside the robot.

"Don't let my looks fool you. I used to be the most renowned mechanical engineer around, you know. Making something like this is still easy for me."

With that, one of the robot's arms grabbed Vira, and it headed straight for the Black Door inside the monster-ravaged research institute. The machine was exceptionally sturdy, sending plenty of monsters flying as it plowed through them.

In just over twenty seconds, Fat Jack brought Vira to the Black Door. Looking at the pitch-black mass inside it, Vira asked nervously,

"Are we really going in?"

Fat Jack's voice came from inside the robot.

"Got a better idea?"

Vira fell silent. Then Fat Jack continued from inside the machine.

"Hold on tight, Vira. In case there are monsters everywhere on the other side, I'm charging in at full power!"
