The chief of the East District Three Public Security Office acted quickly. When Cheng Yu returned to the club, the guards had already been withdrawn. It made sense, though. Rosetti had been arrested because the evidence was conclusive, and the person he had attacked was a fellow councilor, Ten Thousand Mouths.
That made the next step incredibly simple. His arrival heralded Thousand Eyes' arrival, but more importantly, he had already severed any connection between Rosetti and the Thousand Eyes Club.
Now all that remained was to throw the blame onto someone else, and that was easy. While the facts were still unclear, they only needed to create enough sensational talking points to draw the residents' attention. As for the truth? That did not matter...
Cheng Yu soon had the Public Security Office announce that the club's lockdown had been lifted. He had to admit, the Armband that monster Director had given him really was useful.
Looking at the assembled club members, Cheng Yu said softly,
"Rosetti works for Prime Minister Faceless. He harassed Councilor Ten Thousand Mouths on Prime Minister Faceless' orders, with the aim of provoking a conflict between Councilor Ten Thousand Mouths and Lord Dermot, thereby weakening both our Thousand Eyes faction and the Ten Thousand Mouths faction."
Cheng Yu finished with a faint smile.
"That is our explanation to the public. However, it cannot come directly from us. It must spread through other channels. I'll leave the methods up to you. Lord Dermot will arrive in East District Three in two days. I hope this incident won't affect his speaking tour."
The club members exchanged looks. We're supposed to handle it?
Cheng Yu seemed to see their confusion and said softly,
"I've already proved to the Public Security Office that Rosetti's actions had absolutely nothing to do
