As for Mr. Gu, Shen Qing certainly remembered him. Henry might have been the chairman of Vax Corporation, but the man who actually held 52% of its shares was the Mr. Gu Henry spoke of.
All of this had happened before Shen Qing and the other players descended into that world.
Though he had never met the man, Shen Qing had experienced something of Mr. Gu's mystery. An old fox like Henry showed genuine reverence for him, without a trace of pretense. And no one knew better than Shen Qing just how cunning Henry was. That alone was enough to make him deeply wary of Mr. Gu.
But the Lost War?
Wasn't that what they called it when the Destruction Tide surged out of the Lost Kingdom?
As mentioned before, the Lost Kingdom lay in the universe of the present world. It was a sealed domain the Creator God had carved out with immense power after being gravely wounded by the Destruction Tide. Things could enter but not leave, yet even the strongest barrier could develop faults over the ages.
The Lost War Henry spoke of had happened once before. Back then, however, all of the Six Giants were thriving. Led by the Six Giants, the other civilizations of the Star Sea had united and forced the emerging Destruction Tide back inside.
Was it about to happen again?
A terrifying thought surfaced in Shen Qing's mind.
Could it be... that the Lost Kingdom was about to stop working? As for doubting Mr. Gu, through Henry, Shen Qing had learned over the years that the man never spoke without grounds.
If he said a Lost War would happen, then it very likely would.
Shen Qing looked at Henry solemnly and asked,
"Did Mr. Gu say when?"
Henry shook his head.
"No."
