Walking through the streets of the Central Capital, Cheng Yu could not help feeling a little wistful. Aside from the Demon Capital, this was the second city he had seen that never slept. That made sense, though. As the capitals of the world's two dominant powers, they were naturally prosperous.
As Cheng Yu followed the ordinary citizens toward the Human Emperor's Palace, his eyes occasionally swept his surroundings, searching for work that might earn him some quick money.
Looking at the stalls lining both sides of the street, each featuring specialties from different worlds, Cheng Yu sighed again.
It was not as though he had never considered setting up a food stall and selling snacks ahead of their time. But judging by what he saw, the Central Capital had such a wide variety of those snacks that even he wanted to buy some unfamiliar ones to try.
Instead, foods unique to the Eternal True World seemed more popular with the locals.
That made sense, too. Leaving everything else aside, the ingredients used in local dishes were simply beyond anything the other subordinate worlds could offer.
As for unusual ideas, such as little games...
Cheng Yu glanced at the sides of the street again. Someone dressed as a Mage was using magic to perform "tricks" for a group of children with black iron-level strength. He sighed once more.
Watching the uniformed officials who occasionally passed by to maintain order, Cheng Yu thought to himself,
Should I take a gamble and see if there are any bounties? Try being a bounty hunter for once?
But then frustration struck him again. His only means of attack, Little Red, devoured everything without leaving a trace, and he did not trust anyone enough to let them install monitoring equipment on him.
