About a year had passed since Cheng Yu and his companions encountered the wild demons.
Over that year, Cheng Yu's group had encountered several more bands of wild demons, belonging to all sorts of plant and beast species.
Some of those wild demons remained hostile toward Cheng Yu's group, but they all ended up being fed to Little Red. The neutral and friendlier ones, however, left both Niu Ba and Cheng Yu marveling at the unpredictability of life.
The reason was simple: these wild demons belonged to minor clans that had gone extinct among the Demon Race. Some had died out during the First Heavenly Demon War, and others during the Second Heavenly Demon War.
Niu Ba even took on the role of a promotional ambassador, telling them that beyond the mountains, on the other side of the sea, there was a race that also ruled over the Eternal True World and would surely accept them, because they shared the same name: the Demon Race.
Unfortunately, these wild demons had long since established their own social order in the Haiyou Mountains. Most had little interest in what Niu Ba said, while a smaller number asked what the Eternal True World was, and what ruling over it meant.
So Niu Ba turned into Teacher Niu and gave the wild demons a lesson on the Eternal True World.
Yet when they heard how dangerous the outside world was, they all said their lives were perfectly fine as they were. They neither needed nor wanted to leave.
That left Niu Ba deeply dejected.
