On this reliable map, Fuzhou City lay a short distance inland from the western coast of Beiyou Prefecture.
But west of Fuzhou City stood an unnamed mountain range that "didn't look very long" on the map.
So to get from Fuzhou City to the Northern Wasteland Sea, they would either have to go around it or cross the mountains.
There was another problem, too: how were they going to cross the Northern Wasteland Sea and reach the Northern Abyss Islands?
With tensions running high between Humankind and Monsterkind, reaching the Northern Abyss Islands through legitimate channels was impossible now.
They could only look for a less conventional approach.
But another obstacle stood in his way. Fuzhou City was sealed off, so to find out where such an alternative route existed, he would have to go elsewhere in Beiyou Prefecture.
Studying the map before him, Cheng Yu found another city.

It was all the way in the center of Beiyou Prefecture. There had to be other cities around Fuzhou City, but none of them were marked on this map!
Again, Beiyou Prefecture had formerly been the Northern Continent, a place synonymous with vast lands, sparse population, and scarce resources. Without an accurate map, it was all too easy to get lost in the boundless wilderness.

Caught between a rock and a hard place-that really did describe his situation now.
