Enju and Rentaro watched it all in astonishment.
"Captain Aiki, what are you doing?"
"Now isn't the time to explain!" Aiki looked ahead calmly.
"Captain, the monsters are coming out. About twenty of them."
"Everyone, prepare for battle!"
"Yes!"
Shields of light swiftly settled over everyone.
Suddenly, a massive spider-type Gastrea leaped out of the woods. More dark shapes flashed out behind it, one after another, lunging at the Holy Light Clerics.
"Holy Knights! Shield of Courage!"
Clang! Clang! Four enormous golden shields unfolded in an instant, forming a towering golden wall that protected everyone behind it.
Boom! Boom! Boom! The monsters slammed into the enormous golden shields like mad beasts. Green blood trickled down the shields, and the tremendous impacts jolted the Holy Knights slightly backward.
"Fire!" Golden Magic Circles suddenly spread out nearby. Two robots burst out of them, their bodies shaped like stacked blocks and gleaming with golden light. Each stood on three mechanical legs and held cylindrical Gatling guns made of countless barrels in both hands. As they dropped, their three bladed mechanical legs drove deep into the earth on either side of the enormous shields.
Red lights lit up in the robots' eyes. They turned their bodies and aimed their machine guns at the Gastrea. Amid a faint mechanical clicking and grinding, the Gatling-like weapons in their hands began to spin, faster and faster.
Countless golden bullets poured from muzzles blazing with blue fire. Like straight chains of light broken into segments, they tore into the monsters, sending green blood spraying and chunks of mangled flesh flying.
The wounded monsters' flesh writhed as they tried to heal their injuries, but black smoke rose from every spot struck by the golden bullets. The pain drove the already mindless beasts into a frenzy, and they hurled themselves
