Anduin Lothar shook his head slightly. He was carrying out the king's orders; he could hardly afford to let his thoughts wander now.
He quickly dismounted and walked toward the Holy Light Clerics.
But as soon as he reached them, the Holy Light Clerics keeping order stopped him.
"Hello. If you need treatment, please wait your turn. Don't rush, and don't panic. We aren't going anywhere." A voice rang out, clear and graceful as an oriole's song.
Lothar paused briefly, then recovered. "My lady, I have been ordered by the king to escort you to an audience with him. I am Anduin Lothar."
The female cleric looked Lothar over in surprise. "My apologies. Please wait a moment. I'll inform our Legion Commander right away."
Lothar nodded in understanding. "Please be quick."
"Of course!" The cleric then hurried toward the front of the group.
Lothar turned slightly to watch. The female warrior who had just spoken with him approached a man at the front of the group. His golden armor set him apart from the ordinary soldiers, and he had close-cropped, tawny hair and rugged features. He was not particularly handsome, but one glance gave the impression that he was very dependable.
The man was patiently talking with an old woman in shabby clothes, her hair white, who held a six- or seven-year-old boy by the hand.
After the female warrior whispered something in his ear, the man said a few words to the old woman beside him, then strode toward Lothar.
The closer he came, the more Lothar sensed that this was no ordinary man. Every movement carried the rigid discipline of a soldier.
Had he not seen these armored people treating ordinary citizens one after another, Lothar would truly have wondered whether some foreign army had entered the Stormwind
