"That brat was as stubborn as ever," the captain joked as he sensed the group moving farther away.
"Well, well, well! She was everyone's darling, after all. But the fact that she remembered her duties already gave her one of the qualities of an excellent Holy Light Cleric," a nearby teammate replied lightly.
"Her? She still had a long way to go. We spoiled her too much, and now she even dared to talk back on the battlefield." The captain pursed his lips, a hint of pride in his expression.
While they chatted, however, the thunderous rumbling in the distance drew closer and closer. "Get ready to fight, everyone. Don't go dying on me! You heard that girl-even if we went to the Divine Kingdom, we wouldn't get to leave her behind. Put your backs into it, and let's all make it out alive." The Holy Light Cleric Captain drew the Knight Greatsword at his waist, and a golden alloy greatshield appeared in his other hand. He slammed the heavy shield into the ground.
Boom!
The earth buckled beneath it, leaving a deep indentation. The golden greatshield looked as though it had been welded firmly to the ground.
"Tch! That brat kept saying things that jinxed us. I hadn't even found a wife yet. When we got back, I'd have to go see her." Another voice rang out as several cubes were swiftly tossed onto the ground. White light spread, and the cubes instantly unfolded, a continuous mechanical clack-clack filling the air.
Four or five robots bristling with machine guns and artillery appeared in the clearing.
"What, an old bastard like you wanted to chase a young girl? She was only eighteen, barely an adult. A guy pushing thirty like you wouldn't stand a chance!" The other Holy Knights quickly
