"Watch out!" The Holy Light Clerics had initially been excited to see survivors suddenly appear. They had destroyed so many undead in the city without finding a single living soul, and their hearts had grown increasingly heavy.
Uther and his companions had undoubtedly given the Holy Light Clerics a ray of hope, but this fellow was far too careless. Surrounded by monsters, he had actually dared to let his mind wander.
A sharp-eyed Holy Light Cleric immediately unleashed a Holy Light Slash at the Ghoul wielding a massive axe behind Uther.
A keen golden blade swept past Uther's ear, shearing off a few strands of hair and splitting the head of the Ghoul behind him in two.
"Are you all right?" The Holy Light Clerics quickly surrounded Uther's group, steadily killing the undead army charging madly toward them.
"I... I'm fine!" Uther snapped out of his daze and hurriedly answered.
"Are you the only survivors in the city?" the Holy Light Cleric Captain asked at once.
"No. There are still quite a few worshippers at the Holy Light Grand Cathedral. They're all alive. I saw fighting here and thought reinforcements had arrived, so I came to join you," Uther quickly explained.
"Holy Light above, that's wonderful! We'll head to the Holy Light Grand Cathedral to rescue them immediately. Contact the Regiment Commander and send our location. We have a large number of survivors here."
"Yes, Captain!"
Uther watched the Holy Light Clerics form up and cut their way through the seemingly invincible undead army, his heart surging with excitement.
"Do you believe in the holy Light too? Why would you betray the kingdom and stir up unrest within its borders?"
"Unrest? We hadn't even made a move, and this kingdom was already on the verge of collapse. I'd like to
