"Really, Qingyu?" an incredulous member of Akatsuki asked.
Qingyu hurriedly nodded in excitement.
But Yahiko and his two companions beside him could hardly believe the news.
"Yahiko, this is wonderful! Lord Hanzō has finally recognized your efforts!" Konan turned to Yahiko excitedly.
Nagato also smiled at Yahiko, his eyes shining.
"This... this news came so suddenly!" Yahiko still felt as though he were dreaming and scratched his head in disbelief.
"Haha, Yahiko! Now our Akatsuki can finally become Amegakure's official organization! We have to hold a banquet today and celebrate in style!" the Akatsuki members cheered.
"Yes, a banquet! Nobody goes home sober tonight!"
"Long live Yahiko!"
Watching the jubilant crowd, Yahiko's eyes blazed with determination. He would bring Amegakure to new heights.
Obito stood high above them in the shadows. "You're saying that old bastard Hanzō really intends to hand the position of Rain Shadow over to Yahiko?"
"Heh, do you honestly think that's possible?" Black Zetsu said sinisterly.
"Haha, enjoy yourselves while you can! The higher your hopes, the greater your despair when they shatter!" Obito sneered down at the celebrating Akatsuki members. "Naivety always comes at a price!"
At daybreak the next morning, Qingyu accompanied Yahiko to the Rain Shadow Building.
"Yahiko, mind your manners when you meet Lord Hanzō."
"Right! I understand, Qingyu. I won't let Lord Hanzō down!" Yahiko nodded firmly.
When they reached the building, however, something felt strange. There was not a single ninja around.
Knock, knock! "Lord Hanzō?" Knock, knock! "Are you there, Lord Hanzō?" After knocking several times, Qingyu looked puzzled. The two exchanged glances.
"Could Lord Hanzō not be here yet?" Yahiko asked in confusion.
"Impossible. Lord Hanzō is always punctual, especially for something this important!" Qingyu immediately rejected the idea.
"Could something have happened? Let's go inside and look!"
