The Recovery Fruit!
Its paramecia ability originally allowed the user to restore his injuries and negative conditions to a previous state, with the span of time he could reverse increasing alongside his strength.
But after River strengthened and developed the fruit, it became a powerful ability that could restore his surroundings and affect nearby objects.
It even encroached upon time itself!
Its range had expanded once again, reaching a staggering extent.
Simply put, he could turn back time around him!
Without a doubt, this was a game-breaking ability. Yet compared with the many terrifyingly destructive fruits in the pirate world, it was not particularly outstanding.
However, its support capabilities and powerful healing effects were astonishing.
It could even reverse a person's death!
That was precisely why River had chosen this ability in the first place.
Immortality and freedom from injury were enough to give him an absolute advantage in any battle.
"Are you surprised?"
"You're not the only person who can possess a fruit."
"And you're not the only person who can develop one to the point of awakening."
River walked forward slowly, speaking calmly as he fixed his eyes on Doflamingo.
"You still don't seem to have a very clear understanding of this world."
"Doflamingo!"
Doflamingo's expression darkened. The next second, he jolted both hands, and everything around him transformed into white threads faster and over a wider area.
Buzzz!
Even the air shook at that moment as enormous white waves surged and churned, filling his surroundings.
River moved as well. He shot forward, appearing right in front of Doflamingo in an instant.
Doflamingo's expression changed sharply, and he jerked both hands.
"Shield White Line!"
A vast mass of fine white threads on the ground instantly swept upward, rapidly forming an enormous shield in front of him.
The very next second, River's fist slammed into it.
Bang!
Crack, crack, crack!
The enormous shield caved inward. A continuous series of cracks rang out before it shattered.
Despite its astonishing defensive power, Shield White Line could not stop River for even an instant.
Doflamingo's eyes narrowed, and he tried to retreat. But that fist had already swung through and struck his abdomen.
Bang!
The force erupted, sending Doflamingo flying. His feet carved a deep trench across the ground.
"Pfft!"
He spat out a mouthful of blood, then snapped his head up and swept both hands.
"Oceanic White Waves!"
White threads across an area spanning nearly several thousand meters boiled and surged, rushing toward River to bind, pierce, and slice him.
"Quite an impressive display!"
River glanced around and chuckled.
"But it's no use against me."
He stepped onto the surging waves of white threads, instantly turning them to nothing. Then his figure flickered rapidly as he charged toward Doflamingo.
Wind howled. In almost no time at all, he was standing before his opponent again.
So fast!
Donquixote Doflamingo's expression changed sharply. Even the attacks launched by his surging white threads could not keep pace with River's movements.
Just how physically powerful was this man?
While that thought crossed his mind, River's fist was already swinging down.
A gale struck his face, its pressure scraping painfully against his skin. Doflamingo's gaze hardened as he raised his arms, coating them in Armament Haki to block the blow.
Bang!
His body was sent flying once again. Shock filled his heart, along with a deep, growing fear.
A simple punch was enough to put him under such tremendous pressure. He had never experienced anything like this before.
"Hah!"
After flying nearly five or six hundred meters, Donquixote Doflamingo roared and forcibly halted his backward momentum.
He watched the figure ahead shoot toward him again, moving so terrifyingly fast that the air gave a shrill whistle, as though someone were whistling.
The sight of that charge through the air almost frightened him into submission.
He could see River flickering closer. In the blink of an eye, the man's face was already perfectly clear.
"Is this all you've got, Doflamingo?"
"Strength like this can't put any pressure on me."
The cold voice reached him, sharpening his gaze and igniting his anger.
"Of course this isn't the end!"
Doflamingo roared each word emphatically. His aura surged abruptly, and he soared into the sky.
"Standing up there won't let you evade my attacks!"
River turned, his feet kicking against the air as he charged toward Doflamingo without slowing down.
"Hoo!"
Doflamingo took a deep breath, then abruptly raised both hands. A sharp gleam flashed across his sunglasses.
"Thousand Arrows Through the Heart: Feather Strike, Thread!"
The endless white threads on the ground shook violently, cloaking themselves in a Purple-Red glow as they grew tougher and sharper.
Then thousands of threads coated in Armament Haki spread into the shape of wings and shot toward River.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Piercing cries filled the air, like tens of thousands of birds calling at once.
In almost an instant, thousands of threads reached the space beneath River and stabbed toward his body.
"Restore!"
River uttered the word coldly.
The threads faltered, but only some of them dispersed. The rest had already reached him.
Was their Armament Haki coating interfering with my fruit ability?
River's heart tightened.
The next second, he extended his right hand and slowly clenched it.
As his fist closed, wisps of Cherry Blossom Aura gathered around his right hand, fluttering outward.
"Ryuo, Mountain Crusher!"
Facing the countless Purple-Red threads howling toward him, River punched, and the outline of his fist swelled.
In an instant, boundless light flashed. Violent waves of air churned, sending rings of ripples spreading outward.
Those myriad Purple-Red threads were held firmly at bay by that single punch.
After a deadlock lasting roughly four or five breaths, River shot backward. The countless piercing threads fell as though they had lost their driving force.
Doflamingo watched, his gaze darkening slightly.
It still hadn't worked.
He gave his hands a slight shake. The ground shuddered violently, and sixteen enormous waves of white threads coated in densely concentrated Armament Haki rose swiftly.
"This is the final strike!"
Donquixote Doflamingo muttered, his eyes turning vicious.
Even before the battle began, he had known his opponent was strong-unimaginably strong!
But he still desperately wanted to know whether twenty years of effort had brought him closer, whether he was worthy of entering River's sights.
And there was that precious Void Night number!
At the thought, Doflamingo's gaze instantly turned frenzied. His Conqueror's Haki burst forth without restraint, sweeping outward unchecked.
"Sixteen Holy Bullets: God Thread!!!"
Sixteen enormous Purple-Red waves of white threads twisted and howled as they shot skyward, rising behind Doflamingo before turning and rushing toward his opponent together.
"A final strike with everything on the line?"
Sensing the aura emanating from his opponent, River's eyes narrowed slightly.
His right hand settled on the sword hilt at his waist, but he soon let go again.
"An impressive display."
"But not enough to make me draw my sword."
