River rose and walked up to them with his scepter, smiling faintly.
"How arrogant! Don't think I'll go easy on you just because you saved me."
"If I have a chance to strip you of your title as King of the World, I certainly won't pass it up."
Douglas Bullet sneered as he spoke.
Once, Roger had been the man he strove to surpass. But time had passed, and the era had long since changed. This world now belonged to River, and the age of the maritime Empire had begun.
Naturally, the man he sought to defeat had become River instead.
"Heh."
River chuckled and swept his gaze over the three men, sensing their eagerness to fight.
"It seems all three of you came here today for the same reason!"
He abruptly planted his scepter against the ground with a heavy thud.
At his words, Redfield smiled. "If you want to persuade me to cooperate with you, you'll have to show me some worthwhile strength!"
"Though I've heard your influence on these seas now surpasses everyone else's."
World nodded firmly. "That's right. Of course I acknowledge my debt to you for freeing me from prison, but not just anyone can make me, World, submit!"
"Let me see how strong you are now, River!"
"Let's see whether you can conquer me. If you're still weaker than Roger was back then, I won't hesitate to drag you off that lofty throne!"
Bullet also declared in a deep voice.
"You all want to fight me?"
River raised his eyebrows and grinned.
"Then will you come at me one at a time, or all together?"
Those words sharpened all three men's gazes, and Redfield, standing at the front, immediately spoke.
"I wouldn't stoop to
