After taking a few more deep breaths, Cornwall finally calmed down.

Whatever had happened to kill this powerful Daemon, it had nothing to do with him. He needed to find a way to dispose of the corpse it had left behind.

Five meters tall and packed with solid muscle, it would not be easy to get rid of.

"Quick! Turn the Divining Mirror toward this useless fool!" A voice rang out in Cornwall's mind.

Cornwall trembled with fear, but forced himself to answer despite his terror. "Yes, master."

Stumbling and scrambling, Cornwall rushed to the corner of the room and dragged the Divining Mirror over, turning its surface toward Losek's "corpse."

An oily, slimy tentacle reached out of the mirror and wrapped itself around Losek's "corpse." Before long, Losek's charred body began to recover. Muscles writhed at the severed neck, and a new head sprouted in an instant.

Daemons possessed tremendous vitality, and Greater Daemons even more so. As long as they were not completely dead, a mighty being of the Warp could save them. Even if they had died completely, their masters could resurrect them if they wished.

With a sudden, near-death shriek, Losek awoke. Only then did the tentacle slowly withdraw into the mirror.

"Give me control of your body. Useless though this fool may be, you are still unworthy of speaking to it."
