After roughly ten days of fierce fighting, the human fleet under Hanks's command had all but lost its combat capability. Every capital ship had suffered damage to varying degrees.
Only the Harbinger of Doom and two other heavy cruisers equipped with Nova Cannons remained combat-capable. The others had either been crippled or sunk.
Smaller vessels such as escorts and destroyers had suffered even heavier losses, with fewer than ten still able to fight. There were rather more transport ships left, around twenty.
A fleet of this size would be annihilated by even one more assault from the Tyranid Fleet. The reason the Tyranids had not done so was simple: they had no time to bother with them.
The fighting on the ground occupied most of the swarm consciousness's processing power. As an aggregate of minds, the swarm consciousness rarely displayed emotion. Like a machine, it was objective, calm, and merciless.
Yet even it was astonished by the chaos on Euronia III. The human Astra Militarum and Planetary Defense Force were understandable, as were the Orks, though these Orks were also stronger than traditional records suggested.
But what were the Daemons and Chaos Space Marines doing here?! The Tyranid Swarm had never gained any biomass from fighting such things. They had no flesh.
It had thoroughly driven back the human fleet. To accumulate more strength, gain a greater advantage, and acquire more biomass, it divided its forces into three parts. One landed at Stone Ridge in the Southern Hemisphere, expanding its strength by devouring the Gitz left there. Their task was to fight the Orks.
These Orks were strong too, but at least they were not as absurdly powerful as those on Euronia IV.
The second contingent was deployed near the equator, fighting the Daemons and their auxiliary forces at Spaceport
