In Cheng Mingrui's mind, the integrity of Sneaky Boss's Ship was gradually rising. Perhaps the machine spirits the Adeptus Mechanicus spoke of really did exist. But even Cheng Mingrui's ability to awaken machinery's vitality had its limits. He could not truly repair the warship; he still needed the Mekboys to tighten the bolts.
If he sent out a mass message calling the Mekboys back to repair the ship now, all the Boys would surely return for fear of being left behind. But... then there would be no Boys left fighting the Tyranids.
So Cheng Mingrui came up with a plan. First, he called Crooked Mouth.
"Crooked Mouth, I'm heading out to Fertile III to fight the bugs, but we ain't got enough Boys repairing Sneaky Boss's Ship. Go find some clever Mekboys and Boys, the most creative ones. Quietly. Don't spread it around."
"Right, Boss. Leave it to me. I'll find the best Mekboys and Boys for sure. Loads of Orks want a spot aboard Sneaky Boss's Ship." Crooked Mouth readily agreed.
He soon went off to round them up. Cheng Mingrui had said to do it quietly, but how could an Ork's mouth possibly keep a secret? Once "quietly, don't spread it around" was put into practice, it became a rumor that spread farther and farther.
"Sneaky Boss needs skilled Mekboys to repair Sneaky Boss's Ship. Get here quick."
"Sneaky Boss is taking his flagship and leaving first. Hurry up, or you'll get left behind."
"Sneaky Boss found a new Waaagh! He's leaving any minute! Any Orks who don't make it will be stuck behind eating his exhaust!"
That was simply Ork nature. The clever Greenskins hurried back through teleportation and other means. If Crooked Mouth had intended to summon a thousand Boys, at least a hundred thousand ended
