"Though the Chaos Gods all represent certain extreme emotions and concepts-for example, you represent war, Tzeentch represents change, Nurgle is stasis, and Slaanesh is desire... Oh, right, there's also the Fifth Chaos God. I still don't know what he represents."
"That... what was he called again? The one the lore keeps retconning. Damn, I can't remember..."
Khorne interrupted Cheng Mingrui. "Avoid addressing them by their true names whenever possible. Even with my shielding, there is still a chance they could sense you, especially Tzeentch."
After a brief pause, Khorne continued, "You may call him the Blue-Skinned Monster."
Cheng Mingrui's mouth fell open in surprise. He really hadn't expected Khorne, a blunt, straightforward brute, to be so... humorous...
"All right... Gods like you and the Blue-Skinned Monster are gods of concepts, rather than the concepts themselves," Cheng Mingrui explained his thoughts at length. "If you disappeared, would war, desire, and wisdom still exist? The answer is yes. They absolutely would. As long as intelligent life exists, these concepts will exist."
"You aren't the concepts themselves. You merely represent them, drawing power from these concepts and authorities to grow ever stronger. It's just... I still don't understand why you're all competing so hard to make yourselves stronger."
Cheng Mingrui scratched his head. He genuinely didn't know the reason for that. Khorne seemed to have blocked that part of the knowledge flowing through their connection. Anything else Cheng Mingrui wanted to know, Khorne would tell him.
"Of these concepts, the Blue-Skinned Monster's are the vaguest and most contradictory. He nominally represents wisdom and change, but can he really represent them?" Cheng Mingrui sounded as though he was asking both Khorne and himself.
"No, he can't. He absolutely can't. If he could... then he would be omniscient and omnipotent. But if he were omniscient
