Riding the turbulence caused by the explosion, Boss Slick cast his consciousness into Realspace. Sure enough, by sheer coincidence, a cocoon with a huge dent in it was drifting through a star system the Screw Clan had just occupied.
How had he found it so quickly? As luck would have it, the cocoon had been struck by two Gargant battleships racing through the Main Universe. Both Gargants had been going flat out. Never mind an empty flight path-even if something stood in their way, the two Ork captains would have rammed straight through it.
The cocoon's appearance ended the race. The winning captain gloated, while the loser swore a blue streak, demanding to know which inconsiderate Snotling had been throwing rubbish into space.
Amid the uproar, the cocoon hatched. The eagle from before emerged as a giant eagle seven or eight kilometers long. His wings had grown even more enormous. Fully spread, they actually covered the Gargant battleship that had struck the cocoon.
The feathers on his wings shimmered with a blue-green metallic sheen, looking both sturdy and beautiful. Warp energy flowed over them, carrying a dangerous glow.
Beneath those wings, the eagle raised his head like a king. He opened his beak and let out a piercing cry.
In Realspace, that cry shook the entire Gargant battleship so violently that it nearly fell apart. Its impact in the Warp was even greater, drawing the attention of the Four Chaos Gods.
Tzeentch was delighted. Everything was proceeding according to his script. Though that script had acquired many variables, as long as the ultimate outcome remained the same, more variables would only make Tzeentch happier.
His grating laughter echoed through higher dimensions. He looked toward the other three Chaos Gods, seemingly showing off his achievement.
Khorne and Slaanesh glanced at Tzeentch,
