Besides their lack of warship fire support, air power was the Ork forces' second disadvantage. Drukhari fighters and bombers were far too technologically advanced, appearing out of nowhere and striking with devastating power. Ork aircraft could not compete at all.
"If Daft were here, maybe he could take on these black gits." As he spoke, Little Slick snatched a rocket launcher from a nearby Bomm Boy.
Little Slick aimed at an empty patch of sky and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
By sheer coincidence, a Drukhari phantom fighter emerged from concealment at that very moment and happened to collide with the wobbling rocket.
Ork rockets carried hefty explosive charges. A single hit punched through the Drukhari fighter, turning it into a blazing fireball in the sky.
"Course, with me here, we can do it too," Little Slick said, blowing the smoke from the launcher's muzzle. The Webway suppressed divinity, and Boss Slick's mechanical authority was suppressed as well.
Still, merely using his authority to sense the locations of Drukhari fighters did not require much of its power.
After holding out for another twelve hours while directing the battle from the rear, the Duke of Shadow Blades finally could no longer withstand the Orks. To preserve his remaining forces, he ordered his troops to retreat.
He still had a way to hold on: turn the Webway into a maze first, force the battle into a stalemate, and draw out the fighting. As long as he could buy time, he would eventually find a solution.
If worse came to worst... if worse came to worst, he could still ask Commorragh for help. Millions of years of rule had given the Duke of Shadow Blades plenty of connections. Provided he could afford the price, he could hire quite a few Kabals from Commorragh
