"Tch." Little Slick was about to keep trading barbs with Boss Copperhead when a tremendous force pulled them both into the air.
"What's goin' on? Where'd gravity go?" Boss Copperhead was baffled. He looked around and saw that most of the things nearby were floating, not just the two of them. Even the enormous Gorkanaut was no exception.
Then he looked up and saw nothing. There had to be something at the center, though. Everything, large or small, was being drawn toward it. They were farther away, so they had only been lifted into the air.
Soon, the floating Boss Copperhead dropped back down. The Gorkanaut undergoing repairs became even more battered after being lifted and dropped like that.
Boss Copperhead was about to start cursing, but he noticed Little Slick staring upward with a grave expression. He raised his head to look at the sky too.
A small accretion disk had appeared there. The entire area should have been piled with countless wrecks, Ork troops, and the corpses of Honsou's Dragonflies, yet it had become remarkably clean.
It was as though a funnel-shaped vortex had appeared and sucked everything inside. Matter that had not been swallowed was torn into elementary particles, which gathered through gravitational inertia and rubbed against one another, forming a small, scorching accretion disk.
"A Singularity Bomb..." Little Slick said gravely.
"Huh?" Boss Copperhead was astonished. "The dark twigs really have those things? No wonder I couldn't see nothin'. Felt like someone yanked me up and dropped me again in an instant."
"We oughta be glad they didn't drop that thing on our heads, and they probably don't have enough of 'em either. Otherwise, we'd all have turned into elementary particles before we even knew what hit us," Little Slick said, giving Boss Copperhead a sidelong
