Under the plan they subsequently devised, Lady Malys and Cicero would lead their troops to the battlefield to halt the Slaaneshi Daemons' advance.

Meanwhile, in the rear, Ovisus and her guards, the Warlocks of the Seer Council, would use their psychic power to activate the Spear of Isha and sever the Webway behind them.

The plan was excellent, but it ran into a major problem the moment they put it into motion. Severing the Webway effectively meant cutting off their retreat and abandoning the troops fighting the Slaaneshi Daemons at the front.

And so, true to Drukhari tradition, some troops refused to go to the front and simply mutinied...

This conspiracy seemed to have been perfectly planned, too. It began just when Lady Malys, Cicero, and Ovisus were all together, still fine-tuning the Spear of Isha.

"Heh, what a joke. We're working so hard to save the entire Aeldari race, yet the Aeldari's own nature keeps pushing them toward extinction," Lady Malys said with a cold laugh, covering her face with a folding fan.

There were only around three thousand guards, while the rebels outside numbered at least in the tens of thousands and had brought large numbers of war machines. It was a moment of grave danger.

Cicero and Ovisus both looked grim. Only Lady Malys remained composed, and her calm steadied morale.

"A fight! Is there a fight?!" Hols asked eagerly.

"Of course. We must never show traitors mercy. Only by killing every last one can we deter those who might follow," Lady Malys told Hols gently. Her crystal heart was beating, and her longsword thirsted for blood.

The first to break through the gate were the Drukhari's traditional vehicles: Raiders that served as troop transports, Ravagers equipped with heavy cannons, and Venoms with enhanced armor-piercing capabilities.
