The Ork motorcycle raced around behind the defensive line for ten minutes before the defenders finally destroyed it. The Orks riding it died thoroughly satisfied, having had the time of their lives.
The destruction they caused dealt a deep blow to the human defenders' confidence. Just three Orks had done so much damage. Pioneer City had fifty thousand Planetary Defense Force troops and seven hundred thousand militia defending it, but would that really be enough?
At least a million Ork monsters were advancing on Pioneer City, even if they were scattered across a vast area rather than concentrated together, their attention drawn by all sorts of minor targets.
But even if only half of them-five hundred thousand Ork monsters-reached the city walls, how could ordinary humans possibly stand against them?
"Tell Pioneer City they must hold! Don't fear those brutes' monstrous strength and savagery. Humanity has faith, artillery, and steel. I'll send them support," Chuck ordered at the Command Centre.
"As long as they hold out for as long as possible, I can send troops around the flanks to surround those Ork monsters. Then we'll carpet-bomb them with Banshees, send the Armored Divisions in to clear a path, and finally throw in our main force to wipe them all out!"
The plan looked eminently workable: an outflanking maneuver followed by bombardment with superior firepower. By any military academy textbook, it was a winning strategy. Chuck's confidence swelled again.
In his mind, the Orks were chaotic and disorganized. First, Pioneer City would draw their attention. Then he would commit all his Armored Divisions to cut through their weak points, while infantry divisions poured through the breaches in an unending stream, squeezing the Orks trapped inside the encirclement.
All that remained would be to use the Armored Divisions as a hammer and
