Ch. 41Noya's first battle

Noya fought Surikar in an arena match, badly injuring him before the bout ended and leaving Zhang Fan with Surikar’s twelve black demon crystals. Zhang Fan outwardly promised to return them to Madoc, but privately intended to keep them.

  • Domina asked Zhang Fan to make her a powerful body, while Madoc introduced Surikar and boasted about his twelve black demon crystals.
  • Surikar attacked Noya, but she poisoned his hand and cut off half his arm with a powerful sword strike; his arm quickly regenerated.
  • Noya dodged Surikar’s charge, burned him with fireballs, and was struck by missiles that her armor helped her survive.
  • Noya transformed into a seven-colored sword and pierced Surikar’s chest after Madoc made him release her; Surikar then threw his twelve black demon crystals at her feet and left the arena.
  • Zhang Fan called the match a draw and promised Madoc that Noya would return the crystals, while privately deciding to keep them.

Ch. 42Auction

Noya kept the Twelve Black Magic Crystals she won from Surikar, while Zhang Fan made a lucrative deal with Princess Domina to hire the Insect Race's army. At the auction, Zhang Fan stunned the crowd by bidding one hundred Emperors for the Gomita Galaxy.

  • Zhang Fan urged Noya to return the Twelve Black Magic Crystals to Madoc, but Domina defended Noya and Madoc offered her a choice from his treasury instead.
  • Domina hired the Insect Race's army to wipe out a galaxy for 1,000 Krami Energy Pearls, and Zhang Fan introduced Matriarch Shusha to help design her a powerful body.
  • Noya returned from Madoc's treasury with dozens of cyborg attendants and two powerful items, while the tournament concluded after three more days of combat.
  • Boss Jin explained that the auction accepted Emperor warships as currency, and Zhang Fan recognized the barter system as a way to spread Insect Fungi throughout the universe.
  • When the Gomita Galaxy drew no bids above ten Dragonhawks, Zhang Fan offered one hundred Emperors, shocking Madoc, Domina, and the auction crowd.

Ch. 43Starting at 100

Zhang Fan won the Gomita Galaxy and Master Qikeduo’s {Dawnlight} by bidding one hundred {Emperor} warships for each, prompting the auction committee to offer him private selections instead. After the auction, Princess Domina arranged to visit the Insect Race in three months, when its fleet and her requested body would be ready.

  • Zhang Fan outbid King Didis for the Gomita Galaxy with one hundred {Emperor} warships, learning that his ships were worth far more than he had realized.
  • The host presented {Dawnlight}, and Zhang Fan again offered one hundred {Emperor} warships, so Boss Jin proposed showing him the remaining items privately to protect future auctions.
  • Zhang Fan bought the auction’s desirable items while leaving anything Domina or Madoc wanted, earning their goodwill.
  • Domina asked when Zhang Fan would set out against her enemies, and he said five thousand {Emperor} warships and her requested body would be ready in about three months.
  • Noya told Zhang Fan that the surviving monkeys from the diamond-shaped ships were still evading the Insect Race, and Domina offered to help hunt them down when she visited in three months.

Ch. 44Domina's power

Zhang Fan learned that Princess Domina had persecuted Buffett's people and hired the Insect Race to attack the Nine Clouds Star System, while his forces prepared for the expedition. When Domina arrived to claim her new body, she demonstrated that she could control living creatures and promised to remain the Insect Race's friend as long as Zhang Fan did not target her.

  • Zhang Fan gave Buffett a Krami Pearl to study, and Buffett explained that the Atari People could convert its stellar power into energy for the Insect Race.
  • Buffett revealed that Domina had hunted the Atari People because she could not learn magic, and Zhang Fan promised to protect them on Second Earth; he named the human baby Pangu.
  • Zhang Fan assembled an immense Insect Race army, including five thousand {Emperor} vessels, and organized Noya and eleven others as the {Twelve Beast God Generals}.
  • When Moon Ape warships attacked the sixth planet, Domina controlled them into fighting each other and kept the last survivor as a pet.
  • Domina assured Zhang Fan that the Krami would remain friends with the Insect Race as long as he did not target her.

Ch. 45First arrival in Nine Clouds

Zhang Fan accepted Domina’s alliance and led the Insect Race toward the Nine Clouds Star System, while secretly retaining control over her insectified body. After the Insect Race reached the system’s outskirts, the Proud Sun King learned of the approaching fleet and summoned the Star Seer.

  • Domina emerged in her new insectified body, accepted a powerful two-headed beast from Zhang Fan, and agreed to help the Insect Race fight the Nine Clouds Star System.
  • Domina told Zhang Fan that the Western Realm Great Emperor had made the Insect Race’s star domain an ally of the Krami and would protect it.
  • After Domina departed, Zhang Fan learned from Shusha that his consciousness remained hidden inside Domina’s body and that he could still control it.
  • Zhang Fan led the Insect Race toward Nine Clouds, expanding its forces for nearly two hundred years before ordering a forward base and scouting plan near the system.
  • The Proud Sun King heard reports of the Insect Race’s arrival and listened as planetary administrators debated whether to negotiate or attack.
  • The Proud Sun King ordered the Star Seer brought before him.

Ch. 46Besiege the stronghold, ambush the reinforcements

The Insect Race launched attacks across the Nine Clouds Star System while its main force pinned down the system’s fleet. At Illusory Cloud Star, Qilamei kept Noya’s army besieging Ghost Mist Fortress to draw out reinforcements and support Kulika’s front.

  • The Star Seer predicted that the Proud Sun forces would win a devastating war, then delivered a cryptic prophecy about the Proud Sun being remade.
  • Zhang Fan learned that the Nine Clouds Star System had at least eighty thousand A-class warships and ordered attacks on Hunting Cloud Star and Illusory Cloud Star while the main force engaged the enemy fleet.
  • Qilamei and Qilaya led surprise attacks on the two planets, and the Insect Race overwhelmed Illusory Cloud Star’s defenses within three days.
  • The Insect Race surrounded Ghost Mist Fortress, where the Illusory Cloud Lord and the defenders held behind an ionization barrier, and the besieged forces requested reinforcements.
  • Qilamei stopped Noya from attacking the fortress, explaining that the siege would lure out reinforcements and give Kulika more time on Hunting Cloud Star.

Ch. 47Division

Director Li diverted the relief fleet from Illusory Cloud Star to Border, leaving Yan Gang and his forces to face the Insect Race alone. After the fortress fell, Kaqi defied Li’s orders and took the Slant Sun fleet home to defend against the advancing Insect Race, while Qilaya watched the enemy forces split.

  • Director Li ordered the relief fleet to change course for Border, while Kaqi accused him of abandoning Illusory Cloud Star for political reasons.
  • Qilamei and Noya launched an assault on Ghost Mist Fortress after the relief fleet turned away, and the Insect Race broke through its defenses.
  • Yan Gang led the defenders against the Insect Race but died when Ghost Mist Fortress was overrun.
  • Qilamei led ten thousand {Emperor} vessels toward Slant Sun Star, and Kaqi ordered his fleet to return and defend it.
  • Kaqi ignored Li’s demand to obey orders, and Qilaya laughed as the opposing forces split.

Ch. 48A wolf ahead, a tiger behind

The Proud Sun King ordered the Right-Whirling Sun King to retake Hunting Cloud and Illusory Cloud Star under the Left-Whirling Sun King's supervision. Facing the vastly larger Insect Race fleet, the Right-Whirling Sun King sent Laya to negotiate, and Matriarch Shusha welcomed her.

  • The Left-Whirling Sun King accused the Right-Whirling Sun King of plotting against the throne, and the Proud Sun King ordered him to recapture Hunting Cloud and Illusory Cloud Star with the Left-Whirling Sun King overseeing the campaign.
  • Zhang Fan learned that Miller's cryptobiotic genes could protect the Insect Race from extreme conditions and directed the Matriarchs to research them and other desired traits.
  • The Insect Race occupied Illusory Cloud Star and began planting Titans while the Proud Sun fleet held back from attacking its much larger forces.
  • The Right-Whirling Sun King and his ministers worried that the Left-Whirling Sun King would exploit any delay, and Laya volunteered to approach the Insect Race.
  • Laya slipped past the Proud Sun Royal Guard's sensors and arrived in the Insect Race fleet, where Matriarch Shusha welcomed her in Proud Sun language.

Ch. 49An alliance

Raya negotiated an alliance between the Insect Race and the Right-Whirling Sun King, who agreed to march against the Proud Sun King despite the Insect Race’s demands. Shusha secretly planted Insect Fungi on the Left-Whirling Sun King as Raya returned with the alliance terms.

  • Shusha welcomed Raya and offered to negotiate peace, then demanded the Sulamei Starfolk and half the planets in the Nine Clouds Star System as terms for an alliance.
  • Raya returned to the command ship with the Insect Race’s Magic Crystal Hologram Projector, but the Left-Whirling Sun King seized it and questioned him.
  • The Right-Whirling Sun King ordered the Left-Whirling Sun King out of his command ship, unaware that Insect Fungi had been planted on him.
  • Raya told the Right-Whirling Sun King that the Insect Race demanded the Sulamei Starfolk and six planets as forward bases, and claimed they would share their technology.
  • After viewing the projector’s strategic deployment, the Right-Whirling Sun King ordered his forces to advance toward Insect Race space.

Ch. 50Darkness Descends

Zhang Fan and the Right-Whirling Sun King joined forces against the Proud Sun King, while the Star Seer revealed a prophecy about darkness descending on Proud Sun Star. The Left-Whirling Sun King, apparently possessed by Zhang Fan, killed the Star Seer and faced the Proud Sun King’s accusation of rebellion.

  • Zhang Fan arranged for the Right-Whirling Sun King’s Hundred-Foot Army and the Insect Race to stage a battle that fooled the Proud Sun Guard into withdrawing from Hunting Cloud Star.
  • Zhang Fan met the Right-Whirling Sun King and accepted his condition that the Insect Race spare anyone who surrendered.
  • The Right-Whirling Sun King announced plans to attack Pianyang Star and later seize the Radiant Sun Palace with the Hundred-Foot Army.
  • The Star Seer told the Proud Sun King that the Hundred-Foot Army had survived and revealed that her people had escaped aboard the Right-Whirling Sun King’s flagship.
  • The Star Seer warned that darkness had descended upon Proud Sun Star and urged the court to kill the Left-Whirling Sun King.
  • The Left-Whirling Sun King took the Nine Suns Spear and killed the Star Seer while speaking in Zhang Fan’s voice, prompting the Proud Sun King to accuse him of rebellion.

Ch. 51Surprise assault on Proud Sun

The Proud Sun King sent most of his fleet to reinforce Pianyang Star, leaving Proud Sun Star vulnerable to a surprise attack by the Right-Whirling Sun King and the Insect Race. As the defenders were overwhelmed, Zhang Fan revealed himself as the Overlord of the Insect Race and trapped the Proud Sun King.

  • After the Star Seer died, the Proud Sun King ordered every warship except the Imperial Guard Legion to reinforce Pianyang Star, despite Yatie’s warning of a possible attack.
  • Once the Proud Sun fleet warped away, the Right-Whirling Sun King launched a surprise assault on Proud Sun Star with ten thousand Hundred-Foot Army warships and five thousand Insect Race Emperor warships.
  • The Proud Sun Guard held the attackers outside Proud Sun City until Pipe Worms brought the Insect Race up from underground, where Rose led the assault against Yatie and his defenders.
  • As the insect tide reached the Proud Sun Imperial Palace, the Right-Whirling Sun King ordered an all-out attack, while the Proud Sun King refused to retreat.
  • The Left-Whirling Sun King appeared behind the Proud Sun King with pitch-black eyes, revealed himself as Zhang Fan, Overlord of the Insect Race, and said someone had ordered him to destroy the Nine Clouds Star System.

Ch. 52Proud Sun must be destroyed

Zhang Fan and the Insect Race conquered Proud Sun Star and evacuated the Nine Clouds Star System after the Sulamei Starfolk warned that the Star Seer threatened his control of fate. He destroyed the system, helped the Proud Sun natives begin rebuilding elsewhere, and secretly planned to take the Sulamei Starfolk to Second Earth.

  • Zhang Fan used the Left-Whirling Sun King and the Proud Sun Guards to attack the Proud Sun King, then revealed himself and helped the Sulamei Starfolk defeat their enemy.
  • The Insect Race and the Hundred-Foot Army captured Proud Sun Star, while the Right-Whirling Sun King persuaded Rose to stop fighting Yatie and asked him to help rebuild Proud Sun.
  • A Sulamei Starfolk warned Zhang Fan that Proud Sun must be destroyed and the Star Seer must disappear, so Zhang Fan ordered the evacuation of the Nine Clouds Star System.
  • An Emperor fired a Miras Cannon, detonating the system's twelve stars and annihilating the Nine Clouds Star System.
  • Zhang Fan sent the Right-Whirling Sun King to rebuild on a distant planet with Insect Race aid, and secretly planned to take the Sulamei Starfolk to Second Earth.

Ch. 53Star-destroying Dark Crystals

Zhang Fan discovered that dark crystals could be charged with energy and detonated as devastating weapons. He ordered the crystals moved away from the fleet and agreed to keep their destructive power secret until the Insect Race was strong enough to protect itself.

  • Shusha reported that the newly hatched {Progenitor} had useful traits but was lethally vulnerable to selenium, while Rose reported that two {Emperors} had fallen into suspended animation.
  • Kui explained that the {Emperors} had entered a Dark Crystal Cluster whose crystals absorbed energy, and Zhang Fan ordered the fleet to retreat and test one crystal.
  • Zhang Fan had increasing numbers of {Emperors} bombard a small dark crystal until it began flashing, then ordered Eagle Eye to fire the {Dawnlight} at it.
  • After the crystal stopped absorbing energy, Zhang Fan had it towed away and told Eagle Eye to fire again, destroying everything within fifty light-years.
  • Kui warned Zhang Fan to keep the dark crystal weapon secret until he could defend himself, and Zhang Fan agreed.

Ch. 54Unknown energy source

Zhang Fan oversaw the Insect Race’s preparations and promoted Kara and Shusha to leadership roles after learning that the Progenitors could reproduce and inherit selected genes. Venom Scorpion and Akadelan investigated an unknown civilization and began infiltrating the planet Feranld to acquire genes and seize its advanced portal technology.

  • The Insect Race produced fifteen {black obsidian} crystals, and Zhang Fan discussed the dangers of excess with Kui.
  • Kara showed Zhang Fan that an {Ancestor Broodmother} could lay {Progenitor} eggs and pass optimized warrior genes to its offspring.
  • Zhang Fan promoted Kara to {Research Matriarch} and Shusha to {Strategic Matriarch}.
  • After {Venom Bees} detected an unknown civilization, Zhang Fan sent {Beast God General} Venom Scorpion and {Matriarch} Akadelan to investigate with two {Emperors} and {Progenitor} eggs.
  • Akadelan identified the strange energy source as a portal and learned that the planet Feranld had advanced spatial teleportation technology but weak defenses.
  • Akadelan ordered thousands of {Progenitor} eggs to infiltrate Feranld and gather genes before a coordinated attack.

Ch. 55Duplication and Disguise

Alandeka’s evolved Progenitors infiltrated the Blue Cardians by exploiting their Duplication and Disguise genes, then stole portal documents for the Insect Race. With the invasion preparations underway, Akadelan implanted Duplication into Venom Scorpion, who tested the ability after emerging from the modification chamber.

  • Alandeka waited for the Progenitors to obtain useful Blue Cardian genes while Venom Scorpion impatiently urged an attack.
  • A Progenitor parasitized a Blue Cardian woman, acquired Duplication and Disguise, and took her identity as Qiusha.
  • Qiusha charmed a Blue Cardian into helping her retrieve portal documents, then sent them to the Emperor through a Venom Bee.
  • Akadelan received the documents and told Venom Scorpion the invasion would begin in two days after more eggs were sent out.
  • Venom Scorpion asked Akadelan to implant Duplication into his genome, and Akadelan warned that using it caused dizziness.
  • After two days in the modification chamber, Venom Scorpion split into two identical versions of himself while Akadelan collected data.

Ch. 56Invasion of Ferandel

Venom Scorpion launched an invasion of Ferandel, overwhelming its defenses as the planet’s leaders argued over how to respond. When the Jinxiu Galaxy Council sent a fleet to force the Insect Race to withdraw, Akadelan ordered her forces to attack it.

  • Venom Scorpion ordered two {Emperors} to attack Ferandel after the evolved {Progenitors} finished parasitizing their hosts.
  • The evolved {Progenitors} overran Bidele Air Base, and General Kasalan ordered its evacuation as attacks spread across Ferandel.
  • Kasar interrupted the United Council meeting with news footage of the alien invasion and urged the nations to unite against it.
  • Venom Scorpion ordered the invasion to begin, and {Venom Bees}, {Six-Eyes}, and {Super Six-Eyes} devastated Ferandel while he destroyed an energy cannon.
  • Akadelan learned that the Jinxiu Galaxy Council had sent a fleet to Ferandel, recalled {Enhanced Super Six-Eyes} to defend the {Emperors}, and ordered an attack on the council’s forces.

Ch. 57Brocade Interstellar Council

After the Jinxiu Galaxy Council learned that its rescue fleet had been devastated by the Insect Race, its elders sent three Strategic Strike Fleets to Ferandel Star. Zhang Fan redirected the Insect Race fleet to confront the council, leaving the two sides headed for another battle.

  • Modo reported to the Jinxiu Galaxy Council that only thirteen cruisers and the Dreadnought Qibai had survived the Insect Race’s attack, while six hundred thousand Guardians had died.
  • Jiesang and Nord concluded that the Insect Race’s parasitism targeted living organisms, while Sinderson questioned whether the council should attack; the elders ultimately dispatched three Strategic Strike Fleets.
  • Zhang Fan praised Qiusha’s {Clone} skill, ordered Kara to investigate Portal Technology, and told Venom Scorpion to obtain the Blue Cardians’ life-sign-masking technology.
  • Zhang Fan ordered the main Insect Race force toward Second Earth, while Akadelan returned to Ferandel Star with three {Emperors} to hunt the hidden Blue Cardians.
  • After learning that the Brocade Interstellar Council had assembled twenty Dreadnoughts and about four hundred thousand cruisers, Akadelan requested support from Shusha.
  • Shusha told Zhang Fan that Akadelan needed help, and Zhang Fan ordered all Insect Race forces to turn back and attack Ferandel Star.

Ch. 58Fierce battle

The Insect Race fought the Brocade Interstellar Council on Ferandel Star and in orbit, with neither side gaining a clear advantage. After Akadelan considered using black obsidian, Zhang Fan reprimanded her and ordered her to defeat the enemy with her own strength.

  • Akadelan directed the Insect Race fleet as the Nado and Wade fleets attacked, while the Gomud forces descended on Ferandel Star to fight the Insect Race.
  • Venom Scorpion killed two Gomud soldiers, but the legion commander summoned reinforcements; Venom Scorpion then called forth Overlord Beasts and thousands of Cheetahs.
  • Kamudo arrived to lead the Gomud forces, and she fought Venom Scorpion as the ground battle became a stalemate.
  • In orbit, the Insect Race and Council fleets traded heavy losses, prompting Akadelan to demand the black obsidian.
  • A Matriarch warned Akadelan that using black obsidian would destroy their own forces, and Zhang Fan then ordered her to defeat the Council without it.
  • Akadelan accepted Zhang Fan's reprimand and vowed to show the enemy the might of the Insect Race.

Ch. 59You're too slow

Zhang Fan held back while the battle on Ferandel unfolded, then the Insect Race revealed hidden reinforcements and overwhelmed the Gomud forces. Kamudo died trying to destroy her armor's energy core, while a hundred thousand Emperors surrounded the Council's strike force in space.

  • Zhang Fan told Shusha he wanted the Matriarchs to become capable assistants rather than puppets, so he would not attack yet.
  • Venom Scorpion rallied the dwindling Insect Race troops and fought Kamudo as the Gomud warriors appeared close to victory.
  • Venom Scorpion duplicated himself, while Snow White arrived, killed the Gomud legion commander and his guards, and summoned tens of thousands of Insect Race troops from underground.
  • Snow White killed Kamudo by piercing her armor and tearing out its energy core as the Insect Race overwhelmed the Gomud forces.
  • A hundred thousand Emperors surrounded the Brocade Interstellar Council's strategic strike force near Ferandel.

Ch. 60Peace talks?

After Kui reorganized the Insect Race, its overwhelming fleet reached the Brocade Galaxy and forced the council to consider surrender. Matriarch Doria met the council and declared that she had come to accept its surrender, not negotiate peace.

  • Zhang Fan scolded Akadelan and Venom Scorpion for their reckless battle tactics, and Kui proposed dividing the Insect Race into six groups under Shusha’s command.
  • Nord discovered that Kamudo’s armor had nearly self-destructed before a guard reported an alien fleet of roughly one hundred thousand dreadnought-class warships.
  • The Brocade Galaxy council recalled its fleets and debated whether to fight or seek peace after seeing the Insect Race assembled on a live transmission.
  • Doria arrived alone at Brocade Star, spoke to Jiesang and Sinderson in Blueka, and dismissed their mechanical guards as no threat.
  • Doria introduced herself to the council and declared that she had come to accept its surrender.
