Since Orochimaru wanted to see, was Oguri Hayashi afraid he would not let him?
After taking Orochimaru on a cursory tour of Takigakure, Oguri Hayashi truly opened his eyes.
In the forest at the foot of Takigakure's mountain, ninja stepped across the trees and used Wind Release ninjutsu to cut down branches. Every branch varied in thickness, so they had to channel different amounts of Chakra into their Wind Release to cut them precisely without wasting too much Chakra.
If they wasted too much Chakra, they would not be able to complete the day's task. But if they used too little, they would not be able to sever the branches. Every chop of firewood was a test of their fine Chakra control.
After the branches fell from the air, some people gathered the thick trunks into piles. A Great Fireball Technique set them ablaze, then others used the Earth Flow Wall Technique to enclose the burning branches, leaving several openings at the bottom for air to enter. They were then left to smolder for more than twenty hours.
Once these smoking earthen mounds had cooled completely, they could be opened to reveal charcoal distilled free of even the slightest trace of moisture. The charcoal was sent to the village's warehouse district. The warehouses, petrified from earth into stone, were so secure that even ants could not crawl inside. Once sealed, they were exceptionally airtight. It could not have been more convenient.
The rabbits were trapped in narrow cages lined up in rows, with feeding entirely provided by Earth Release. Earth Release ninja poured feed into troughs, and the Earth Release beneath the troughs transported it to the fronts of the rabbits' cages. The rabbits could only barely stretch out their heads to eat. Though they were tightly
